I reached out my hand out to you

You seem so near yet so far

You are so close as if I catch you

But when I do, you get away

You are like the sun

I can feel your warm rays, envelope me with warmth

You shine on my path; you emit a blinding light, that glow that makes me lose reason and lets my emotions take over me

You cast out the darkness

But I don’t think that this is right

The feelings got lost in my lungs, they’re burning and I’d rather feel numb

There’s no one else to blame

I’m so scared, I took off and I ran

I can’t fly so close to the sun

I shouldn’t…

But how can something so wrong feels so right all along?
