Yoo Mi POV

Okay. I know what I am doing is very very unethical, and very very bad. But, it is what I have to do, since it is obvious Jung Hye won’t tell me anything!

She says that she and Jonghyun don’t even know each other? Pfft! What lies! Ever since he came to this school (and rejected me) she hasn’t been the same! There is something fishy going on, and I have to find out.

So, what I’m doing is very bad, but I was given the perfect opportunity to find out what really is happening and I can’t just let it go!

You see I was walking out of school, and I just happen to see Jung Hye. Except she wasn’t alone, she was with Key. Yes Key, the hot new guy in school, but he happened to be good friends with Jonghyun so I don’t suppose I would ever have a chance with him... ANYWAYS that is not important. So as I was saying, I was going to join them (in hopes of Jung Hye introducing Key to me), when suddenly, Jonghyun shows up, and they talk, seeming VERY comfortable with each other, which just proves my point that Jung Hye and Jonghyun obviously knows each other.

So, seeing this opportunity, I hid behind a wall and waited to see what would happen next.

What happened next was, Jonghyun and Key walked away for a bit before walking back and joining Jung Hye.

Then all three of them walked down the street. Together.

How. Weird. Is. That.

And so, I followed them.

Which is why I am where I am right now.

In front of Jonghyun’s flat.

WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD JUNG HYE GO TO JONGHYUNS HOUSE ALONG WITH KEY?? WHY WOULD SHE NOT EVEN MENTION THIS TO ME?

OH MY GOSH, WHAT IF JONGHYUN IS BLACKMAILING HER AND HOLDING HER HOSTAGE IN HIS HOUSE!

POOR JUNG HYE!! BEING KIDNAPPED BY TWO MONSTERS!!! GOOD LOOKING AND REALLY HOT, BUT MONSTERS!! I BET JONGHYUN OFFERED HER JELLY BABIES IF SHE FOLLOWED THEM. SHE LOVES THAT STUFF!

So I was about to burst open the door and arrest Jonghyun and Key or whatever until the better and more reasonable part of my mind took over me. No, Yoo Mi. I must be level-headed and take this like a mature young woman.

I gently pressed my ear against the door and readied my phone to call the police just in case I hear any little tiny sound (such as Jung Hye screaming and demanding to be given her jelly babies and to be let go from a sack should they ever stuff her in a sack).

Or maybe, I sighed as another thought entered my mind. Maybe Jung Hye’s secret that she has been hiding, will be revealed today.

I pressed my ear even harder onto the door.

Jonghyun POV

“YAH JONGHYUN, WHY DON’T YOU HAVE ANY VEGETABLES?!” Key screeched from the kitchen, his head in the fridge before he stuck it out and glared at me. “All I see is chicken and ice cream and milk! FOUR BOTTLES OF CHOCOLATE MILK! HEY WHY ARE THERE JELLY BABIES IN THE FRIDGE?”

“NOOO WE HAVE CANNED CARROTS! AND OTHER STUFF!” I replied and pointed to the cupboard on top of Key’s head, “IT’S THERE!”

He narrowed his eyes at me before reaching out for the canned carrots. “Jonghyun we’re going shopping tomorrow.”

I groaned, knowing what that meant. I didn’t complain either, because I knew that that meant too.

Soon, Key had set up a whole cuisine from chicken, canned carrots, canned salmon, cucumber, tomato sauce and milk (WHAT, EVEN MILK?).

“Wo-owwwwww.” Jung Hye looked in awe. “Where did all this come from...”

Key smiled proudly at all the dishes laid out on the table. “Now you guys, I can’t be here every day to cook your meals for you, so this is an example of a HEALTHY meal, nutrition is VERY important to your health, effects of an unbalanced diet are-“

I roll my eyes and tune out as Key began another one of his KEY-UMMA-KNOWS-BEST- SO-YOU-BETTER-ALL-LISTEN-TO-ME talks.

Blah, blah, blah, maybe I should tune in on what he is saying again?

“-one effect could be stunted growth, which as you can see, is something poor little Jjong here has suffered.” I hear Key say to Jung Hye before they both burst out into laughter.

WAIT WHAT? “HEY! IM NOT STUNTED!  I JUST HAVE UNFORTUANTE GENES!”

“There, there, it’s alright, I still love you even though you’re short!” Key jokes as he winks at Jung Hye.

Who looks very very amused. “Gnaw! You guys are so cute together!”

I scowl, “Can we eat now??”

“Ah haven’t I taught you any manners? Let Jung Hye eat first!”

“No no! Key you should eat first, after all you cooked all this!” Jung Hye replies.

“No, I insist you eat first!”

“But you are the guest!”

“But ladies should eat first!”

I snort, “Lady? Jung Hye? Lady? HAHAHA! WHAT A JOKE!”

Jung Hye glares at me, “WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPLY HUH?!”

Oops. “Nothing~ Let’s just eat yes?” I quickly shove some food into my mouth before Key or Jung Hye could protest again.

Oh, such nice food. What a change from take away!

Jung Hye POV

“MM! This is really good Key!” I say after taking a mouthful of the dishes Key had somehow managed to magically cook up (WISH I LIVED WITH HIM INSTEAD OF JONGHYUN!) .

“Why thank you! Such a compliment coming from a pretty girl like you~”

Jonghyun suddenly coughs, which results in him choking on his food. I guess it was because of the comment Key made, I mean, aren’t they meant to be together?

“Haven’t I told you not to eat so fast!?” Key scolds as he pats Jonghuyn on the back. Woah, they seem close!

“Gnaw! You guys are so cute together!”

“Of course!” Key beams while Jonghyun just continues eating.

Silence.

“So..” I begin cautiously, “not being nosy or anything, but how long have you guys been together?”

Key doesn’t seem to have any change of expression as he chews on the chicken and says, “Hmmm, together? Since kindy.”

WHAT!?

SINCE KINDY?!

HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE!? WHEN I WAS IN KINDY I WAS THINKING ABOUT LITTLE BUTTERFLIES AND UNICORNS AND RAINBOWS AND SPARKLES ! I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW WHAT LOVE WAS! YET THEY HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FROM THAT TIME!?

So from the start, no girl (or boy) from the school would’ve had any chance with Jonghyun...

Because, for such a long time, there was somebody so special in his heart...

That maybe nobody could’ve made their way in too...

Including me- HEY WHY AM I THINKING ABOUT ME?

I shake my head to get the thought out and Jonghyun raises an eyebrow at me and asks, “What’s wrong, KFC man?”

“HEY! I’M NOT THE KFC MAN!”

“Sureeeeeeee.” Jonghyun smirks.

“ANYWAYS,” I say, trying to divert my attention from Jonghyun and turned to Key, “so, uhhhhh... kindy huh... wow... uhhh... so uhh... wow, you guys are... really close right?”

Jonghyun was still wearing that smirk on his face as he turns around to Key and caresses his cheek playfully, “Yeobo? It’s been two years; will you marry me?”

“Ah,” Key laughs as he shrugs his shoulders and makes an I-don’t-know hand gesture and points his head towards me, “Sorry, I had a girlfriend behind your back.”

“Dammit! When’s Taemin legal?”

The couple loudly laugh at their own jokes while I, awkwardly, being the third wheel, quietly laugh with them. They are so... close... I feel guilty just sitting there eating! I KISSED JONGHYUN! I KISSED JONGHYUN! I KISSED JONGHYUN! AND HIS BOYFRIEND IS SITTING RIGHT ACROSS THE TABLE! HOW CAN I NOT FEEL GUILTY!

“Oh, so, uhh...is it weird??”

Ok. Why did I ask such a thing!? What an awkward question! “Not that I have anything against you guys, you know...” I hurriedly add.

They give me a confused look, “Against us!? WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAINST OUR RELATIONSHIP!? Of course it isn’t weird! We are so close!”

“Noo! Of course it’s good you guys are so close, and so open too! I admire you guys! So... how come Key just transferred to our school?”

“To be with Jonghyun of course! I felt so guilty since-“

“Heh, he felt guilty cause he couldn’t see my beautiful face every day! RIGHT KEY?” Jonghyun interrupts before giving Key a ‘look’

Jonghyun and Key  turn to each other and have a silent conversation, you know when two people have this conversation with just their facial features??

Awkward. ‘Uh...so I take it you’ve been in fights before??”

“Yeah! You would not believe this guy!” Jonghyun laughs.

“Hey! It’s not my fault you are so unwilling to compromise to what I want! But of course, in the end I always win, and you always make it up to me don’t you??” Key winks at Jonghyun.

I let out a nervous giggle. Oh-kay... I’m just going to pretend they weren’t hinting anything...at all..

“So how did you agree to be erm..” Is boyfriends too weird to say? “bfs...”

“Well, it’s a long story, but to cut it short, we just sort of... agreed! When we realised how much we had in common!” Key answers

“ANYWAYS WHY ARE YOU ASKING SO MUCH QUESTIONS JUNG HYE?! WHAT ARE YOU? A REPORTER?”

Oops. “Sorry! I’m just so... intrigued! Just one more question please!”

He sighs, “Alright, fine fine, what is it?”

“Well..” How do I word this? “How did you realise you were in love??”

“HUH? IN LOVE?”

“Did you just wake up one morning and... know? Is that how love works?”

“HUH? What?”

I shifted uncomfortably and swallowed the lump in my throat, “H-Have you two kissed yet?” Which would obviously be a yes, but I didn’t know why I felt like I needed to ask that question.

“SAY WHAT?” They both said, still looking as confused as ever.

WHY ARE THEY DENYING IT NOW?  “ AREN’T YOU GUYS LOVERS?”

Both of their eyes widen in shock, until the silence finally stops and they both double over in laughter, tears their eyes.

“S-SURE WE ARE,” Key manage to say before his mouth opens even wider to laugh. And laugh. And laugh.

Oh.

Yoo Mi POV

Did I just hear right?

JONGHYUN?

KEY?

GAY?

Suddenly I felt the gears in my head click together.

THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!

WHY JONGHYUN AND KEY ARE SO CLOSE... calling each other by petnames... Jonghyun rejecting every girl...

“Sure we are,” I heard Key’s voice from inside.

OH MY GOSH!

SO IT’S CONFIRMED!

OH MY GOSH.

I quickly run away from the door and back home.

This is unbelievable.
