A single glimpse of light wasn’t noticeable to him until he pried his eyes open to the light gush of air rushing through the dark room and into his eyes, the sounds of metal clanking over one another sent little hums onto his skin, ringing slowly into his ears and the repulsive pungent of sweat, dirt, and blood surged through his bloody nose slowly dripping at the once steady water. drip..drop.. time won’t heal it whispered.
