What the 'Ice' sees

Description

She envied her sister once. The man she loved likes Krystal better. It hurt, but she managed. She never thought she'd envy her sister twice, though this time, it hurts a lot more since she has offered herself as a bridge for them. She also used to discriminate her sister's choice of men. Krystal likes rugged, bad boy types. She despises those. And yet, right now, she seems to have fallen for the rebel.

Foreword

“Kris reported to be dating director Xu Jing Lei”

She reads those words again and again, trying to perfectly understand those straightforward and blunt bunches of letters; until finally, tears started to fall one after the other.

She doesn’t seem to notice the tears as she continues to read the whole article. Word by word, she embeds them on her mind, heart, and soul; like a tattoo, it will stay forever with her as a reminder.

Her door opens noiselessly; she doesn’t allow any creaking barriers in her house because he said he wakes up from those sounds. From remembering those memories, more droplets flowed down from her eyes.

She doesn’t even bother looking at who the intruder is, she can’t care now. She doesn’t want to. She won’t.

“Unnie. I’ve heard the news.” says the feminine voice of her visitor.

She felt thousands of pins pricking her heart. Great, she thought, now everyone would love how the Ice Princess had fallen.

She just hummed as a reply.

She heard her guest sigh. A little later, she felt tiny arms wrapping around her waist. At that action, she broke a little inside; remembering how his arms felt, how little she was compared to him but still fitting snugly… She cries a little more.

“We’ll fix you, unnie. You’ll be alright.”

I hope so.

But I know I won’t be.
