Luhan was born with Emphysema, a type of breathing condition that progresses or an on-going disease of the lower respiratory tractin the lungs. This diesease is difficult because it slowly worsens over time.

Sehun is Luhan's childhood friend and lover. Sehun is maybe two years older than Luhan but they get along as their parents were good friends. The first day when Sehun found out that Luhan has this disease was when they were both playing on the backyard, Sehun was only 10 years old at the time while Luhan was 8 years old. It was a tragic day when Luhan started coughing, Sehun offered him water to help but Luhan denied because he didn't want Sehun to worry too much. It was just a cough anyway, Luhan thought.

Soon the coughing gotten worse, it was really bad, enough that Luhan hunched over and started hacking and coughing. Luhan uncovered his mouth only seeing blood. "Sehun-ah! Sehun-ah! Help me!". Sehun ran to Luhan and seeing blood from his hand and a little trickle coming from his mouth that soon got him to carry Luhan bridal style into the house and called his mother for help.

It was when, in the hospital that Luhan had a difficult disease that was really had to cure.

The doctor had given Luhan a ribbon that was tied on his wrist. This ribbon was made to help stable Luhan's condition and to slow it down before it grew when Luhan was growing up. "You can never take this ribbon off okay? It's to help you with the disease. If removed, it could result in serious injury or even death."
