It was the same as it always was—there was only the pale moonlight illuminating the mossy trail. He took a deep breath in, breathing in the scents along the pathway. There was greenery; the ferns and the leaves blowing from the trees, and a soft sweetness that overtook everything else. It was the scent of flowers—beautiful, but faint. They were somewhere ahead of him, near the end of the trail. 

He took off running with all of his strength, desperate to find the source of that sweetness. Something told him, ❝ This is it. This is the way to Paradise. ❞

He ran as long as his legs would carry him, until he met the edge of the Earth. Everything was covered in white; flowers that bloomed only in the guise of the full moon. They were called the lady of the night; a star-shaped blossom similar to a lotus flower. They were the map he would need to follow to get there.

And there, he would finally find peace.
