le mort de la mer

Description

Jongin is an ocean, and Kyungsoo is an untouchable angel. Kyungsoo likes playing games, but the game gets too real too quick.

Foreword

Kyungsoo is the type to notice. It's what makes him such an excellent friend, and a terrific spy. He's who noticed the way Baekhyun looks at Chanyeol, and how Chanyeol looks at Kyungsoo. He's who noticed that Anne had a small pin she always tied some of her hair back with, and it's always the same pin. He's the one who noticed the tiny scar next to Jongin's lip, and the pack of cigarettes in Jongin's backpack as he sat next to the younger boy.

Jongin always mesmerized Kyungsoo, like a beautiful, porcelain doll to a small child, but he wouldn't dare talk to the boy. He might break the glass.

Kyungsoo thought maybe it might be nice to get to know him, until his friends decided that he was bad news. Kyungsoo just idly watched the boy. He soon realized how many secrets the boy was hiding as he uncovered each one. It was like a game for him, playing Unravel Kim Jongin in the very boring and annoying French class.

One day, he would talk to him, however. Their conversation would go like this.

Kyungsoo stared at the boy's desk. Jongin had a blank piece of paper out, and he kept tracing circles over and over. How curious, Kyungsoo thought to himself. The pen glided along smoothly and

Kyungsoo leaned over and tapped on Jongin's shoulder. The boy jumped a little and looked over at the heart-lipped boy. Something flickered through Jongin's eyes and he raised his eyebrows.

"Why are you tracing circles over and over again?" Kyungsoo murmured quietly.

"Practice," Jongin said, starting to trace another. "I was never very good at making circles." When his pen curved through the end of the circle, Jongin dropped his pen and turned back to the boy. "What about you."

"What about me?"

"Why has it taken you all semester to stop staring at me and actually talk to me?" Kyungsoo flushed a deep red.

"I- I'm- not r-really sure," Kyungsoo stuttered in reply. "I didn't realize you noticed."

"You notice things a lot, don't you," Jongin hissed. "You notice what people usually don't, so you think you're special, huh?"

"I wouldn't say that-"

"Oh, but you would. You love deciphering people, and when the answer is simple, you can't see it staring you right in the face." Kyungsoo made a note in his mind that Jongin tends to be very blunt. "Well, I'll tell you this one thing, Do Kyungsoo."

He leaned in, plump lips nearly brushing by Kyungsoo's ear and sending shivers down Kyungsoo's spine, and whispered something.

You are quite special.
