My stomach was soaring with butterflies; I was finally here. I in my breath and opened the door lightly and slightly ajar, trying to not make any noise. “I’m so nervous! I don’t think anyone’s awake though…” I thought as I peeked through the cracks and slowly opened the door fully. I stood in silence, taking in the scenery of new environment that I would soon be calling ‘home’.

“Wow…” I muttered awed and began to shuffle through the place here and there. “Come inside,” I whispered to my manager who was behind me, “It’s really nice…” I continued to say but more to myself. It was clean and organized- there was a piano! I looked inside the kitchen.

Food always comes first.

I kept walking and looking around, but that stopped quickly when I heard small angry whispers from my manager that was barely audible. After all, he was the only one helping me bring all the luggage inside. I smiled sheepishly as he furiously spoke, “Hurry up Bom-ah! I have to go back to the dorms-” “Sorry sorry!” I apologized and quickly and held a huge suitcase and placed it in front of the doorway. I was unaware of anyone else awake and moving about, but that was until I saw him.

My heart beated a mile a minute. He was gorgeous. He stood there with a confused look, then smiled. “H-hello,” He began speaking softly, yet huskily. If anything I was trying to get my heart to slow down and my face to restrain a wild blush. “H-hi. I’m 2Ne1’s Park Bom. Nice to meet you!” I introduced myself while bowing, he had done the same also introducing himself, “I’m Lee Dong Wook. It’s nice to meet you too.”

I distracted myself with more questions to ask that would help calm my heart. It helped…just a bit. “Is it okay if I speak loudly?” He gave me a weary smile, “No, everyone is sleeping.” I opened my mouth and gave a small moan in acknowledgement. “I was right then. But how come he’s still awake-“ My thoughts were cut short when he continued talking.

“You must like dolls a lot.” He said grinning small as he stepped down the stairs approaching me from a fair distance. “Ah yes, it’s my family.” I answered smiling. I almost forgot I was holding on the huge doll in my arms. “I was just on my way to the shoe closet,” He said showing his shoes as evidence; having no idea what to say I just laughed.

Awkward.

We talked a bit more before he offered to help me and my manager to take my luggage to my room. I felt bad. I didn’t want to bother him since he had just come too, he probably still had a lot to unpack. “No it’s fine!”

“No I’ll help,” He insisted, first putting his shoes away before following us up the stairs. I hadn’t seen upstairs yet, but wow was it just as nice. Asides that – I was looking for my room number which I couldn’t seem to find until a few minutes later, and here I was. Standing outside of my room having that familiar feeling once again when I first arrived here. “Are you nervous?” Dong Wook asked, I nodded my head timidly and he gave me a smile encouraging me casually, “You’ll be fine.”

Once it was said he left back to his room while I stood there my with my heart beating once again. It was awkward no doubt. But I could see…a friendship that could bloom between us. And what was that? The foreign feeling around my chest. It was warm and pleasant. I hope to have that feeling that once again but I knew it wouldn’t be the last time I felt it.

We just finished our shoot for today’s episode and I immediately slumped onto one of couches, completely exhausted. Se Ho had just announced to everyone to go out for drinks. Luckily I was free of schedule, a few others as well. Chanyeol and Kang Joon couldn’t make it unfortunately. Dong Wook could make it though! He just finished his drama not too long ago and came back from his trip. There was a giddy feeling in my stomach and I couldn’t help but to let out a huge grin, “It’s good to have him back around here.”

“Something wrong Bommie?” Se Ho asked me which I shook my head too. “N-no! It’s nothing! Nothing at all!” I gave a nervous laugh seeing how everyone eyed me suspiciously. Not that I wasn’t used to that already. He shrugged in response before phoning the bar to make reservations. Nana walked up to me with a bright smile, “Are you tired unnie?” As if the question wasn’t oblivious enough I just nodded tiredly, “Very.” She laughed and so we chatted to each other quietly while others waited or were looking through their phones. Se Ho came back inside the room and said that reservations were already made and that we would have to leave now.

I briefly stopped my small chat with Nana and gathered my things together. From the corner of my eye I could see all the guys gathering around each other talking and laughing loudly, but only one person caught my attention. I felt my cheeks turn red and tried to shake off the feeling before anyone would notice, but just my luck. One person just happened to see.

So Ra smiled deviously as she came and passed by me in a whisper, “We’re going to have a talk young lady~” She sung with a wave and left out the door following everyone else, leaving me alone in the room still blushing madly. “Why does So Ra unnie have to make things feel so…comfortable, yet uncomfortable.” I sighed knowing the tugging feeling in my heart wouldn’t stop every time I took a glance at him. “Get a grip girl!” I mumbled to myself slapping both of my cheeks determined. I stood up and walked out aggressively but not before tripping on one of the camera wires. I forgot the camera crew and PD were still there and so, here I was blushing like an idiot once again with their stares and laughter echoing all through house.

I quickly scuffled out the door, but not before bowing apologizing for what felt like forever. They brushed it off and for that I was thankful.

“God, how much more of an idiot could you be today?!” I thought embarrassed and let the rest of my mind be filled with all kinds of food (corn preferably) and drinks I would order once we got there. In the back of my head there was an image of the man I was crushing on. I knew those thoughts wouldn’t go away anytime soon. How troublesome…

“CHEERS!!!”

“CHEEEERS!!!”

Loud clanking of glasses resonated the private room as they were held up and being downed by each person. “That was good!”  Sung Woo exclaimed wasted; his face turning considerably red. Not that my face wasn’t feeling hot as well. I mean, we were all wasted. “Again again!” Soo Hyun cried out waving her arms wildly bringing the glass to the middle once more. “Cheers!” And again we went. I wasn’t keeping count of how many times we had ‘cheered’ over drinks which, to me, felt endless. “Agaaain-” “That’s enough Soo Hyun noona!” Min Woo yelled holding her down. Well thank god for that. It wasn’t long after everyone was completely wiped out – half of them talking in their sleep.

I was barely awake; I played with the glass in my hand watching the coloured liquid swish around. I was stuck in my own world when someone called out to me. “Bommie~” Oh. So Ra was still awake? Great. Just great. Take note of the sarcasm.

“Unnie…are you okay?” Seeing her wobble her way over to me made me worried, “Of course I am! I hold alcohol well!” I stared deadpanned when she slumped to the chair beside me tiredly. “Sure you are…” She suddenly sat upright with a mischievous glint her eye, much like what happened earlier today and it gave me chills up my spine.

“W-what?”

“Oh. You know what Bommie~”

“I-I don’t understand what you could possibly be talking about, haha…”

“Oh cut the act Bom! I’m talking about your crush on Dong-”

“AHHH!” I slapped my hand on her face before she could utter another word. The frantic look on my face startled the two members who were still conscious and up and about. There were four of us who were still having a normal conversation with each other. Ga Yeon was talking with Dong Wook, while I was with So Ra.     

I blushed once I made quick eye contact with Dong Wook. He gave a sweet smile before turning back to Ga Yeon. My heart was beating a mile a minute. The look on So Ra’s face wasn’t helping in the slightest. I frowned at her and smacked her arm.

“Ow! What was that for?”

“Unnie! Why are you- gah! I’m sure he heard it this time!”

She smiled softly and gave me a small nudge on the arm, “Whether he does or not, you still planned to tell him right?” My cheeks warmed up and I fidgeted silently before answering her back, “O-of course! Just not now…” There was a questionable look was on her face, but she shrugged leaving the conversation to an end. “Tell him when you think it’s time.”

“Yeah…I’ll do that.”

I tore my eyes away from my fingers to his face with a small smile. “I’ll definitely do that.”

“I’ll take the boys. You guys take the rest.”

The three of us stood a while longer still chatting amongst ourselves, “Ga Yeon ah! Are you okay carrying them on your own?” So Ra asked diverting her attention to the youngest girl who was holding onto a drunk Soo Hyun across her shoulders. “So Ra unnie don’t worry about it! I’m fine with it!” She yelled and continued to walk her way to the parked van.

“Aish…I’m worried for that girl. Even if she is the strongest among all of us…” So Ra murmured worriedly. We both laughed at the statement seeing how true it was. “Don’t worry noona she’ll be fine!” So Ra puffed her cheeks in annoyance and I grinned quietly. I found it adorable how much So Ra really cared for all of us. Of course I wouldn’t tell her that.

“I’ll go help her. You two stay here and have…fun.”

I saw the playful gleam in her eye and I immediately glared. “No wonder she left…” I muttered absentmindly. Dong Wook heard me, “What do you mean by that Bom?” There was a questioning look on his face so I shook my head flustered with flailing arms.

“I-it’s nothing!”

“…Are you sure?”

“Yeah yeah! I’m very sure!”

He shrugged, looking up into the night sky with a distant gaze, “If you need anyone to talk to I’m here to listen.” His eyes tore away from the sky and bore into mine. I blushed profusely.

The way he looked at me now was so sincere and with pure intentions. I couldn’t help but wonder…was I bothering him in any way? I feel that a lot of times I’ve caused him so much trouble during – and after – shooting for an episode of Roommate. He’s helped me so many times I just can’t help but to think if I really deserved that kind of look.

I was telling a lie. Well, maybe a half-lie sounds better. Not that I’m lying about it!

Was that confusing? Anyways, I guess I’m grateful in a way. Our friendship now has become a little less awkward, but better than before. “Yeah I’ll do that…” I said quietly answering his question earlier. He smiled and I returned it back with my heart still beating rapidly.

“Ahem!”

We both jumped at the noise. So Ra stood with a naughty smirk on her face before asking, ever-so innocently, “Was I interrupting something?” Both of us shook our heads instantly with warm cheeks. Dong Wook had mumble an excuse to leave to help Ga Yeon which left me and So Ra alone. I stared at her with hard eyes and the warmth of my cheeks not dying down, “Thanks unnie. Now he’s probably all awkward with me now!” I yelled frustrated and embarrassed. She gave a hearty laugh and patted my shoulders to calm me down, she winked before saying, “Oh lighten up Bommie! It was a harmless joke. Besides we should get going, it’s already passed midnight.” So Ra said looking at her watch. She looked back up with a smile, “Let’s go say our goodbyes to Dong Wook and then leave.”

She walked ahead of me and I huffed. When will it be my turn to ?

“See you next week Dong Wook!”

“Same to you,” Dong Wook replied to So Ra with a wave. I was following behind her but I was stopped when she nudged my arm; giving me a look with a small smirk and headed back to the van herself. I pouted grumpily. She always does this to me. I decided to just it up and go back to say goodbye. I mean it’s not that hard… but the idea of standing close to him alone, might I add, was already pressuring enough.

My heart pounded as I got near to him with my every step. He was back facing me; closing the door of the passenger seat where Sung Woo was seated there, sleeping soundly. I cleared my throat to grab his attention. He looked back at me startled but soon calmed down and smiled, “What’s wrong Bom? I thought you would’ve already left with Ga Yeon and So Ra noona?” I clenched my fist and nervously replied back, “U-uh yeah…I-I mean we’re leaving now. I just wanted to say goodnight and drive home safely.”

Without a second thought I turned away quickly not wanting to him to see my blushing face, but he called back for me, “Bom wait!” I paused my steps but didn’t dare turn around and waited for him to continue, “Uh…” I turned towards him once I felt my blush die down and stared anxiously, waiting to see what he had to say. His lips lengthened into a broad grin, “How about we go out for dinner next week?” My stomach flipped tenfold. I did my best to compose the excitement in my voice; praying it sounded normal.

“G-go out? As friends you mean?”

“Huh…oh yeah. As friends.” I tried to hide the disappointment that I was feeling once I got the answer. I was hoping for something more...but I guess I shouldn’t have expected it. I gave him a forced smile, “Yeah sure. Where should we meet? And what time?” Dong Wook oppa shook his head and waved his hand pettily, “I’ll text you the details once I figure it out.” With a reluctant smile I nodded and said my goodbyes to him once again. Despite the fact that I was asked out as friends instead of anything more, I was still happy. We’ll be spending time alone together so that counts as something.

I headed back to the car in a whisper, encouraging myself. “We’ll start as friends, then maybe more…”

“Yeah…maybe.” Came an inaudible reply, then the car door shut.
