Music Lessons ~  Reika of D=OUT

"Onegai! Please teach me how to play the bass Reika-kun!" Maruni begged the bassist of D=OUT, who looked at her strangely.

"Why the sudden interest Maruni-chan?" He asked.

"I just felt like learning something! I'm bored!" Maruni said.

Kouki chuckled, "Come on Reika, it's just a simple request. Besides, Maruni-chan looks like she could be able to pull off bass guitar."

Maruni grinned, hearing that from Kouki. Ibuki grinned.

"Maruni-chan, if Reika doesn't teach you bass, I'll be happy to teach you guitar!" He called.

"Oi! I want to teach Maruni-chan how to play guitar!" Hikaru argued, giving Ibuki a slight glare.

"No way! I'm teaching her!"

The two guitarists started to argue with eachother and, despite how loud they were shouting, Kouki, Reika, Minase and Maruni ignored them like they weren't even there. Maruni turned to Reika.

"So, will you? Onegai!" She begged once again.

Reika sighed, "I guess I have nothing better to do."

"Yatta!"

--

"No Maruni-chan! That's the wrong chord!"

"Oops!"

"Start over again. Let's get this perfect."

"Hai!"

Reika had taughed Maruni how to play the bass for at least a good two hours now and the young girl was growing tired. She let out a loud sigh.

"I didn't think the bass would be this hard." She said. (Bass isn't actually really hard to play. If you know guitar, then bass will just be even easier)

"I guess you're not the type to play bass huh?" Reika teased lightly.

"Shut up. I'm trying okay!?" Maruni shouted back, but in a playful tone.

Reika shrugged, "Just saying what I think."

Maruni ignored his comment and continued on playing the bass. She will admit she decided to try out bass guitar, just so she can be closer to the bassist of D=OUT. Maruni had met Reika and the rest of D=OUT when she went to a restaurant. Reika happened to accidentally spilled water onto her and that's how they met. Whenever D=OUT had a concert, they would always give her a ticket to the best seat and a backstage pass. This resulted in many jealous fans, but hey, that's life.

"Maruni-chan, what made you so interested in trying out bass?" Reika asked, shocking Maruni slightly.

She didn't think he would ask that question. Quickly thinking of an excuse, Maruni quickly told him.

"I guess I just wanted to learn to play it, so when I get bored, there's always something I can do. Also because bass looks interesting." She told him.

Reika nodded slowly. He didn't seem to believe her, but he didn't say anything else about it.

"I see. Why not learn to play guitar or drums or even vocals for that matter. Guitar seems a lot more interesting than bass you know." He said.

"I don't think so! Bass seems more interesting because-!" Maruni stopped, knowing that if she continued her sentence, she would spill her most secretive secret.

The fact that she is in love with Reika. The bassist raised an eyebrow.

"Because what? Why is bass a lot more interesting than guitar?" He asked, coming closer to Maruni's face, making her blush.

Maruni stayed silent for awhile. Reika just continued to stare at her.

"It's because I like you." Maruni mumbled.

"What? I can't hear you." Reika said.

"I find bass interesting because I like you Reika-kun!" Maruni said in a louder voice, making the bassist's eyes widen.

"You what?" He asked, not believing what he was hearing.

"I like you okay? I wanted to learn bass so I can be closer to you." Maruni mumbled, face bright red from her confession, especially to Reika, who she really likes.

"Really? I thought you would like either Hikaru or Ibuki. They seem to really like you, the way they argue over you." Reika said.

"I like them both, but more as a friend. I really like you Reika, as more than a friend." Maruni said, still red.

"I'll be honest as well Maruni-chan. I really like you too, but since Hikaru and Ibuki always talked to you more, I thought you would like one of those two." Reika said.

Maruni smiled, "They are great friends, but I don't like them in that way."

Reika grinned and wrapped an arm around the girl, "What do you think they will say when they see us together?"

"They won't be happy, but they got to live with it."

"So true. How about more bass lessons?"

"You got it."

--

"WAIT!  You two are dating!?" Ibuki shouted, staring at Maruni and Reika in shock.

"HOW, WHEN, WHERE AND WHY!?" Hikaru shouted even louder.

"We both confessed our feelings during a bass lesson, last night, at Reika's house and because I'm in love with him." Maruni answered the rhythm guitarist's questions.

Both Hikaru and Ibuki grumbled, both looking disappointed that you chose Reika over them. Kouki burst out laughing.

"Neither of you two wins! That means I win! Told you Minase!" He said, giving Minase a victorious grin.

Minase just sighed in annoyance, handing over some money to the vocalist. Maruni raised an eyebrow.

"What did you guys bet on?" She asked.

"I bet that you would give up and end up with Hikaru or Ibuki. Since Kouki didn't seem to care, I just kept my answer, thinking I would win either way. Kouki, however, bet that you wouldn't get together with neither of those two and said you would be with Reika. Question is, how did you know Kouki?" Minase asked, giving the vocalist a slight glare.

"I have my ways." Kouki smirked.

Reika chuckled and Maruni smiled at him. Who knew that a simple music lesson, could blossom into something more.
