Foreword

You can say that Kwon Jiyong and Lee Jungmi are never the type of people that would get married.

  With each other.

The fact that they absolutely hate each other made it almost impossible for them to be inhaling under the same roof. ("well, for my defense," Jungmi would say, "I don't exactly hate him in that hate hate. What? Ofcourse I wouldn't want him dead. Where's all the money going to go if he's dead?")

For starters, when they were first introduced to one another, the 3 years old Jiyong in a formal bow tie and toddler suit, while the 2 years old  Jungmi is stuffed into a pulpy pink princess dress, they had disliked the presence of one another, the latter almost always bursting into tears while the older one shares a mutual dislike towards the baby girl who has too little hair for her age, as he would always loudly point out.

When Jiyong was in kindergarten the families had a posh dinner in at his mansion, he pelted peas at Jungmi, who exploded into tears and tantrums. In return young Jiyong got sent to the naughty corner where he is to remain for an hour without finishing his dinner.

When Jungmi reached an age of eight, she had to go to her elementary two fresh year with an old bob hairstyle in the morning, for Jiyong had secretly snipped her pigtails off as a cruel practical joke. In return Jungmi scribbled all over his homework in crayon, earning him a big fat zero for the start of the year.

("I don't hate her? Why should I hate her?" Jiyong laughs, "Hating people is a total waste of time and mental space. And I'm not preparing to waste it on someone like her.")

Jiyong was all prepared for his first confession to a Noona two years older his age when he was eleven, but it got rudely trashed by Jungmi who happened to pass by with her friends, laughing hysterically at his attempt. For the favor, Jiyong had tripped her infront of the whole class.

When Jungmi was 16 and on her first date, it was a lovely setting in the park bench and everything. The sweet boy even had helium balloons attached to the handle of the seat. She was all prepared to have her first kiss until a wild Jiyong strutted into the scene, wrapping his arm around her shoulder with a sleazy look, whispering a "This boy doesn't look as rich as we thought. We need cash, honey." That was the last time Jungmi ever saw that sweetheart.

Jiyong was 19 and was going to have his first presentation in his father's cooperation. He had prepared so much for that big day; sprayed cologne, glossed his teeth and all. It was a presentation on the shipping industry, which his company specializes in. Already nervous, Jiyong covered it up well, reading seemingly confidently from his script. "For next year's bursary, our enterprise aims to cut down unnecessary costs by reducing the amount of finances invested in women. It would no doubt aid in the conservation of the company's resources and values. You can't win me, Kwon Ji..." Jiyong stopped, realising what he had read out as the hall was filled with sudden awkward coughs and clearing of throats.

No one said anything though, for the fact that they all knew Jiyong is the heir of the cooperation.

Now you may ask, since they loathe each other that much, why are they so.. Actively present in each other's entire childhood to puberty and even to adulthood?

The reason is very simple. Kwon Jiyong's father is loaded with money, and Lee Jungmi's father is also rich.  The fact that their mothers go to the same hair salons also paved the path of their not so pleasantly entwined childhood.

They had expected of course, at a certain age that they'll eventually be forced to engage. The period of whining and protesting is over, and to Jiyong, whose father promised him the entire ownership of the cooperation and its wealth three years after marriage (provided that he approves of Jiyong's spouse, of course) it doesn't matter who she is anymore. ("There's a word called Divorce." Jiyong said, spinning the gold pen between his fingers. "I'll just get a divorce after the company's mine.")

Jungmi isn't that ready to accept it. She had tried all method, a variety of acts from a staged suicide attempt to a protest march (in a BMW) from Incheon to Gangnam (where their house is). But for now she had accepted that if she could get a bite of the Kwon's family wealth, (although wealth is already quite her last concern) why not?

Besides, you don't need to fall in love with each other to get married nowadays.

Chapter 32: Omygosh I was literally sooo surprised when I saw that this story had been updated, but thank you so much I absolutely loved it!!!! The fluff and comedy was so perfect. ^^ And Jiyong and Jungmi are my favourite characters too, and I've told you this before but this is truly one of the best stories I've read on here so thank you so much for writing it and adding a full epilogue though I always thought it had ended quite perfectly. What made it especially interesting was that your story was like watching a K-drama, but even better because I could literally picture every sweet, funny or sad moment between them just by reading words. It was like a piece of art -- very beautiful story. I hope you write another one like this when you feel inspired. <3 I also like 'Let Me Tell You Love Is Real'. ^^
