Chapter one: Hyunah's POV

It was a nice feeling to be back.

Hyunah smiled, taking her glasses off and looking up in the sky. The morning heat was just the right amount of warmth, it was like a greeting hug . It made her feel welcomed again. She breathed loud, not caring about how other people might think of her.  It’s been years, but it felt like it was just yesterday since the last time she stepped into the place. She roamed around the city, trying to look at the places she’s been to and she still felt like nothing has changed. It was really nice, she thought.

She looked at the clock, her excitement showing as she read 10AM. She’s guessing it was the right time to visit her old friend. Maybe a good surprise will make it up to that person for all the things she missed. She walked around some more, trying to find the closest bakeshop when she found a group of old ladies staring at her.

“Look at that girl having a lot of drawings in her body. Don’t her parents love her?”

“I can’t believe her parents allowed her to do those things!”

“Kids these days…”

She chuckled, before looking at her reflection on the glass window at the nearest store.  Her sando shirt revealed some of her inked skin and she couldn’t help but smile wider. She wore her glasses back, grinning at the old ladies before leaving the place.

Some things surely don’t change.

“What the are you doing here? Get out! We’re closed.” Hyunah eyed at the girl in front of her, she held the sign and flipped it to “close”

“That’s how you’ll welcome me?” Hyunah flipped the sign to “open” and stared at the person in front of her. She couldn’t help but chuckle at how the other one looked like.

“You’re so gay, Jiyoon. Pink hair? Really?”

“Shut up and leave. You’re banned from my bar.” The other girl stood up straight, folding her arms and blocking the doorway.

“Oh really?” Hyunah removed her glasses and clipped it on her sando shirt, “Like you own the bar, miss bartender.”

“It is now.”

“What?” Hyunah walked closer, her eyes widening as she slowly watch her friend nodding slowly while trying to hide a goofy smile.

“It is mine now.” Jiyoon repeated.

“Holy !”

“I got lucky since you left.”  Jiyoon opened the door, before facing her with a dead look. “I should probably learn how to keep my savings since you’re back. I don’t know, I might lose the business.”

“Ha ha. Very funny, Jiyoon.” Hyunah held the door, smiling and flipping it into the “close” sign again, before following her friend. She breathed slowly and felt so nostalgic when she saw everything in it.

Nothing has changed. Everything still gave her a homey feeling. The wood bar on the bartender’s spot was still there, the tables were still the same, and the dance floor, she couldn’t help but smirk at it, on how she missed a lot of moments there.  Everything was still the same before she left.

She sat on her favorite spot, and waited for Jiyoon to pour her something.

“I can’t believe it. You really did buy this one.” Hyunah beamed at her, playing with her shot glass.
