Who's ways? It's Taehyung's ways

Be A Man

“How do you express yourselves in front Sungjae?” Taehee stopped midway from shoving another spoonful of the chocolate chip ice-cream into , staring weirdly at her brother in front of her across the round table. “Huh? What do you mean?”

Taehyung stirred the spoon across the ice-cream cup’s brim mindlessly, chin propped in the heel of his palm. “Well, you know, how you said those things to him without getting all hot and bothered or getting all red in the face or feeling like you need to dig a hole afterwards? How do you do that?”

Taehee bit her spoon, humming. “You mean, ‘I love you’, that?” Taehyung nodded, cat-like eyes widening hopefully at her. “Well, I don’t know. Just say it with earnest or do it daily to get use to it, I guess. How should I know? I never get embarrassed by just saying those to him, why should I?”

Taehyung shrugged his shoulders, taking a sip of his strawberry smoothie. Taehee squinted her eyes at him. “Does this have anything to do with Jungkook oppa? Is that why you called me over?” It hit the jack pot because the tip of Taehyung’s ears immediately redden at her question. Both of her eyebrows shot up at this.

“Why are you asking me this? Did he make you say it or something? It’s that why?” Taehyung shook his head, sighing before burying his chin in his crossed arms on the table, staring up at his sister. “No, Taehee. That’s not it. Jungkook has been nothing but sweet and everything I could ever asked for.”

Taehee pushed aside her ice-cream and mimicked her brother’s position, completely focusing on him. His brother needed her now so bye bye for now, ice-cream. “So?”

So? He…” Taehyung sighed again, running his fingers through his lilac colored locks. “He always says those to me every day, almost all the time when we’re together for more than five minutes and always initiates things first. He give me kisses, hugs, be there for me when I needed him most and, you know, everything,” his eyes were soft and beaming with adoration and love for the younger one, to which Taehee smiled at. “But the thing is, I couldn’t even, I couldn’t even say ‘I love you’ without getting all frustrated like an idiot and gibberish nonsense any minute!” Taehee blinked dumbly at him, slightly taken aback from his statement.

“Wait, what? Seriously? Just how many times you’ve said ‘I love you’ to him in a day?” Taehee asked. Taehyung looked at her sheepishly, face halfway submerged in his arms. “Two days?” his face’s officially planted into the table.

“A week?”

“Hardly once.”

“Oh my god, no,” Taehee gasped. Taehyung nodded, Dark brown locks scraped against the wooden table. “Way.”

“What am I supposed to do then? I’m just afraid he’ll think he’s not important to me, not important enough to me to deserve my three words,” he sighed, running his fingers through his hair. “He always says those to me, keeps reminding me how much he loves me and how he couldn’t live a day without knowing I’m beside him,” he blushed a bit at the memory, and Taehee never doubted how much he was totally smitten over his husband.

“You know, you don’t have to indirectly say you love him right to his face every singl time like,” Taehee begin, “You could show him by gestures. Morning kisses or simple notes on fridge or brushing your teeth together could simply say it. You don’t have to make it as an obligation for you to do so. You say it because you wanted your other significant self to know, you wanted him to know how much you appreciated his being in your life, not because you felt like you’re obligated to do so.”

Taehee’s beginning to actually see steam coming out of Taehyung’s head and she wondered how red can his face gets till he exploded. “Too much?”

“Babe, I’m home!” Jungkook yelled from the threshold, toeing off his shoes before hopping in, running towards the kitchen just as Taehyung replied to him, cladded in one of Jungkook’s oversized tee and boxers he stole from Jungkook’s closet, cutting vegetables at the counter.

“I’m in the kitc—Oofff!” Taehyung was cut off midwords when he was suddenly engulfed in an armful of Jungkook, a face nuzzled to his and his side flushed against Jungkook’s. “Oww, Jungkook! You scared me!” he whined, squirming a bit at Jungkook’s cheek nuzzling his fondly.

“Missed you!” the younger exclaimed happily despite his tired form and worn out expression from hours of non-stop work. There it is again, that affectionate loving words, those love hearts filled eyes staring back at him. The warmth spreading across his chest and body always felt like the first time hearing him saying that to him.

“Missed me? We just talked to each other half an hour ago,” Taehyung snickered, setting the kitchen knife in hand carefully on the counter before spinning around to face Jungkook.

The boy pouted, arms still tight around the other. “We talked through phones! And it’s not enough,” the other smiled warmly, bringing a hand up to ruffle bronze hair affectionately. “You should takle a shower. You stinks,” he joked, chuckling when Jungkook’s pout deepens.

“Move along now,” he said, pushing a sulking Jungkook to the door. “You’re mean,” Jungkook sulked, Taehyung slapped his before sending him off, sauntering towards the counter to continue doing dinner.

Just as he’s stirring chicken soup, humming softly to Jungkook’s and his favorite morning song, something clicked in his mind and he found himself blushing slightly at the idea. He bit his lips and shrugged his shoulders.

“A simple gesture won’t hurt, right?”

Jungkook woke up to empty bed and sore body. He got up and yawned, stretching his body to loosen some limbs. Man, he did so much yesterday that he felt to sleep right after he hit the bed (not before dragging along a very protesting Taehyung who may or may not have to finish his papers and reports that’s due this weekend, which is two days forward).

Just as he regained all of his senses, he smelt thick chocolate in the air, threatening his stomach to let out an embarrassing grumble. He patted his stomach pitily before hopping off the bed, sauntering off to the kitchen.

Just as he entered the kitchen, he was met with Taehyung’s back facing him with his hands holding up a cup of hot chocolate to his lips, sipping lightly and quietly. Jungkook noted the freshly done cup of coffee at the side of the counter with a cup of whipped cream, dipped with a cinnamon stick. He felt that familiar warmth radiating through his body again, reminding him how much he love this man in front of him, always bringing sunny grin to his face at the mere thoughts of the older like a mad man.

As if in auto-pilot, Jungkook stepped forward, hands reaching out to circle around Taehyung’s waist and feeling the jolt of the older’s body at his sudden touch. “Oh my god, you little . I told you—” Jungkook’s front flushed against his back and his soft lips attached to the nape of his neck stopped Taehyung from his rambling.

He slided his hands up Taehyung’s arms to his hands, carressing them softly before flattening them against the back of his hands, cupping the cup. He brought their hands down gently, placing the hot chocolate onto the counter top. “Jungkook,” even without seeing him face to face, Jungkook could tell Taehyung’s ears were red and the heart thudding softly against his ribcage.

He entertwined their fingers, smiling against the skin of Taehyung’s exposed shoulder and brought the tip of their right index fingers together to the surface of the counter, brushing them heavily against the squeaky clean top into circles, squares and sharp turns and eventually forming invisible words that Taehyung had grown familiar to but could never get used to the warmth and love he received by this small oddly endearing gesture.

I love you.

Jungkook brought their hands up to his face, still locked in each other’s grips, and kissed each of Taehyung’s knuckles fondly. “I love you, you probably know that, right?” Taehyung shyly brought his hand up to cover his eyes (but his fingers were still locked in Jungkook’s so he ended up bringing their both’s hands to his face), groaning slightly. “Of course I do, dummy. You tell me that every single day and time.”

Jungkook chuckled. Taehyung was so adorable like this that it’s simply just too hard to resist. He spinned Taehyung around in his arms, the other having his face down a bit to hide his flushed face (which he oh so miserably failed). He feigned a hurt expression, pouting. “But I don’t get my morning kisses.”

Taehyung raised his face, bitting his lips so adorably that Jungkook felt like bitting his nose. Swiftly, Taehyung outstretched his arm to the other side of the counter, where the whipped cream was at, dipped a finger into it, before smearing it across the tip of Jungkook’s nose, startling him a bit.

“You don’t get your morning kissed when you got morning breath,” Taehyung grinned, though the blush was still prominent on his cheeks. Jungkook gaped at him, looking scandalized. “Excuse you, I don’t have morning breath, okay? I never complain when you eat pizza dipped with anchovy dip, right?”

“That’s another story, alright?” Taehyung wiggled in his arms and went to fetch the cups of hot chocolate, quickly went to the living room. “Go and wash your face, and brush your teeth while you’re at it,” Jungkook whined. “Hyung!”

“Hush hush, puppy. Now go.”

Sulkily (again), Jungkook dragged himself into the bathroom, muttering incoherent phrases under his breath as he reached there. He opened the door, opened the tap to fill his cup with water and raised his head to fetch for the toothpaste. What greeted his sight surprised him though. He stood there blinking like an idiot for a good minute, toothbrush and a cup still in hand before he grinned widely as if he’d just won a million worth of loitery.

There, on the mirror, a huge I love you was written messily across the mirror with what seemed to be toothpaste, and at the end of the note, another huge cheesy looking Tae your alien and Jungkook, again for the gazilion time of his life, thought how lucky he was to have a weird abnoxiously loud yet so endearing as his, and he’s so so ing in love with him.

“Tae, let’s make babies!”

A loud thud answered him and another loud “What??”
