Alyssa's P.O.V.

   "Happy birthday Alyssa!", a familiar voice whispered into my ear, as  I felt a warm hand poke my cheek.

"W-what!", I panicked, grabbing a pillow and shoving it into the intruder.

"Woah! It's just me." exclaimed Lay, my best friend, also the person I was head over heels in love with.

"Oh, thanks for the scare. A great way to start my birthday." I replied sarcastically.

Man, he's so cute already early in the morning... Wait, Alyssa, get yourself together, don't think like that.. Lay smirked.

"Wait, how did you get into my room in the first place?" I asked.

"Your umma, of course! How else would I get in? He laughed. Oh your umma wants you to get ready, and everyone else is downstairs. So dress nicely."

Man, what to wear... I bet the crew is downstairs too, nothing too tomboy because it's just not me. And definitely NOT a skirt or dress..

I slowly walked downstairs. Everyone was in the living room. My heart was beating faster and faster.

"Alyssa! You no wear that! Wear a dress!" Umma scolded me.

"But Umma! You know I don't like dresses!" I complained.

"Excuse me. I want you to look nicer on your birthday." Umma said.

"Fine... You should have at least told me earlier." I muttered.

"What was that?" Umma asked.

"Oh nothing! I'm going to go change now!" I smiled.

Finally, as I looked into the mirror. The only dress I actually ever liked. Umma, why you gotta be so honest. Do I look that bad? Time for some cake!

"Alyssa, can't you be any faster?" asked Lay as he walked into the doorway of my room. He blushed. "You look weird."

"Yeah, thanks for making me feel better." I muttered.

"Come on, it's time for cake." Lay exclaimed as he grabbed my hand. I felt my cheek burning, while my heart pounds heavily against my chest. Alyssa, pull yourself together. Lay smirked.

"Happy birthday Alyssa!", yelled Tao, Xiumin, Kris, Luhan, and Chen, they were all holding a huge cake with candles on burning.

"Thanks guys! I really appreciate it!" I beamed.

"Alyssa hurry up and make a wish!" Lay said, showing off his dimple.

Stop it Lay, you're cute, but you're still a jerk. Lay wouldn't stop. It's as if he's reading my mind. Lay's eyes widened and he quickly looked away.

"Okay. I'm going to wish for..." I closed my eyes and whispered. I wish that the person I like returns his feelings for me. 

"Honey,  what's your wish?" asked Umma.

"Umma! It's a wish! I can't tell anyone!" I replied.

"That's right Umma." chimed in the boys.

"You don't need to ask her, because I know what she wished for." Lay confidentally announced.

"Uh. Good for you. Can I please open the presents now?" I pleaded grabbing for a small red one first.

"Yea, but don't open mine first!" Lay yelled.

"Saving the best for last." We both said in unison. I blushed, and turned away pretending to gaze at the other gifts.

I opened all the presents, quickly, because I was anxious to what Lay got me. Umma got me a new dress, that didn't look all that bad. Tao got me a 'Gucci wallet', which must've have costed a 'fortune'. It's too bad he left the pric tag on it, and it costed only ₩1000. ($1) Thanks, I understand you don't want to give a real Gucci bag away. Luhan and Lay got me a Wolf hoodie. Kris got me a bag of candy. Xiumin and Chen got me perfume. Is this an indirect insult? I'm pretty sure I smell fine. "Thanks for putting in a lot of thought into my gifts, Umma, Kris, Chen, Xiumin, and Luhan. Now For Lay's."

"Hey what about me!" Tao complained

"Your too inconsiderate to give Alyssa a fake Gucci bag." Luhan said, as Tao pouted shoving cake into his face.

I looked at Lay's present admiring the cute bow on top. Awww, Lay wrapped this for me...

"Go on, open it." Lay stated.

I opened to the gift to see a little piece of paper, and two rings. My heart started to beat faster and faster as I read the little note. 'I've always liked you when we first became friends, but now I'm in love with you. Please become my girlfriend.' I looked at him and smiled, "Yes!" I exclaimed.

"What? Did Lay finally ask you out?  Yay! Lay is my son-in-law!" Umma excitedly asked.

"Umma! Don't ruin the moment." I laughed, as I put on our couple ring. Lay pulled me into a warm hug.

The best birthday ever.  Lay whispered into my ear, "I know."
