His silver heart, Her broken heart

 

 

The street's quiet..unlike the busy daylight.

All came to rest when darkness took over.

The sidewalk filled with the wintersnow.

The cold breeze blows..

Lowering my head ,I half-burried my head on the red woven scarf around my neck in order to keep warm.

My small hands tucked securely inside the pocket of my thick layered jacket.

Barely managed to walk as the bones inside my skinny little legs froze due to the extreme cold.

Struggling to lift the heavy boots that covered my foot ..

I shuffled along the lonely street.

 

Life's too hard ..

Today's been a hard long day , no different from my typical days.

A girl clinging on to a meaningless life of hers.

A lonely life in a lonely world.

Different jobs from day to day.

Rejection I got  from people around me .

A wandering soul left in this heartless place called earth.

 

 

"Kai, you feel the cold too?"

I asked the figure infront of me who never once answered me.

 

Motionless

Emptiness in his eyes

Heart of silver

 

I named him Kai.. Kai.. a mysterious feeling yet soothing feeling he gives out.

A manniquin .. a lifeless being.. But the only being that I can relate...

My only refuge..

 

*Flashback 8 years back*

"Mom . why doesn't Kai answer when I talk to him? and never moves ?"

I asked mom as we stood infront of the luxurious looking cloth store.

Classy, elegant, highclassed- words to describe the big place which I never even imagined entering.

My mom's face turned blank.

I pointed to a certain direction as mom followed the direction towards my  finger.

 

"Honey, that's a manniquin , manniquin's don't talk nor move.

They're lifeless. They're not real. Comeon let's go!"

She dragged me away as i stared at Kai untill he was out of sight.

 

Kai's lifeless?

Kai's not real?

I don't think so...

 

*End of flashback*

 

 

I know . People always think that I'm kind of weird.

And when they spot me talking to Kai , weird looking faces shot towards me but I always ignored

them.

I don't care. Call me crazy.

Maybe I am ...

For having  a feeling for what people call a souless being.

 

"Kai.. You're real..

You're real..Right?"

My breath formed a fog  on the spotless glass which sealed the flawless figure inside.

Nothing about him change.

His eyes which never once shed a tear.

His parted lips which never once spoke a word.

His beautiful hands which never once felt a touch.

His perfect long legs which never once took a step.

His still heart which never once took a beat.

Heart made of silver.

 

Motionless

Emptiness in his eyes

"Kai you're lucky. You don't have any tears to shed.No reason to cry"

 

Tears start to form in my eyes as I stood as a statue infront of another statue.

My life !Mom , dad , take me with you.

Why would you leave your helpless little girl all alone to survive in this dark cruel world.

Don't you pity your weak little girl .

Can't you hear cry every night.

Her unanswered prayers .

Her endless calls for you.

Didn't it reach your ears.

Can't you feel her heart,breaking into a million pieces.

Her body weakening inside and outside.

Her empty life ..nothing but agony.

Fighting each day with a hope that an angel may come to take her away the next day.

Hardly clinging on with a hope that someday..

she might find someone to take her loneliness away.

 

"Kai.. Can you take me to heaven?

Where mom and dad are .."

Hot tears stream down my cheeks.

I placed my hands on the cold hard glass which seals me and the faithful figure which never leaves.

Strange.. but I've always felt comfort when I talk to Kai..

He may not be lifeful enough to answer me..

Atleast he's not leaving...

 

I don't feel like going home.

Home..nothing but emptiness and loneliness awaits me.

Everywhere.. anywhere I'm alone ..alone.

 

I crashed down to the cold frozen ground.My knees hit the hard cold ground .

My hands screeched down the cold surface of the  glass as i sob terribly.

Tears..

Can't tears dry? Even after shedding it possible to fill one big ocean.

 

Tonight's two years.. after that dreadful night..

That incident which took mom and dad away from me..

That terrible accident.

 

I was too young..too young to understand.

Too young to hold them back and ask them not to drive out in that stormy night, rain heavily pouring.

And the next thing I heard

"Your mom and dad died in a car accident last night"

 

Their last words...

"Honey,we'll be back soon. We'll be away for only a couple of hours"

 

"You'll be fine yourself, won't you?"

 

Aren't you gone for too long.

Aren't your couple of hours too long.

You asked me if I was fine alone..

Well..I'm not! I hate being alone.This world feels so big and empty alone.

I don't wanna do this anymore . I can't....

 

 

"Kai.. Will you love me if you were to live?

Even with my imperfections?"

"Will you leave? Like every person I love did.. if you were to live"

My voice faded away in the air of total silence.

 

Painful tears flowed down my pale face.

My weak body giving up the struggle to continue this meaningless life.

My hands screeching against the hard glass frame.

It's time...I quit..

 

*Tap..tap*

I heard a soft tap on the glass amidst the deep emotion.

I slowly lift my head ..

My sight's blur.

 

A familiar figure bent down to match my level.

His hands placed on the glass to meet another pair of hands on the other side.

 

His eyes which were once filled with nothing but emptiness were now filled with unspeakable words.

His eyes speak so much more..

His smooth lips curled to form the most beautiful smile I've ever seen.

Warmth in his eyes

Heart of love

 

 

My sight have proven the world wrong..

And has proven my wild belief to be true .

 

All my sorrows gone with the smile on his  face..

 

Oh! how I wish this moment to last forever..

 

 

"Kai .. can we stay this way forever ?"
