Pretty Boy
A Spool of Thread
I tried to concentrate on whatever the teacher was talking about but really.. Who wants to learn about history of pens.. Aish.. I sighed as I started sketching on my 'notes'. I started to hum and my eyes grew big as I realized what I was drawing.. Or better yet, who. Why can't I get him out of my head? Ugghh.. I looked back at my drawing and couldn't help but smile a little as I remembered yesterday..
I ran inside a random store to get away from my friends who were teasing me. I sighed and glanced around the store. Out of all the stores in the mall, I hid in this one? Aish.. If I get caught, I'll get annoyed for life. Good thing no ones here. I walked around the rows of shelves. All the stuffed animals were pretty cute. I picked up a stuffed duckie. It was grey and the beak was orange. The face on it was sorta like (>.<).
"You like him? His eyes were really hard to get perfect." A voice startled me I turned around. A pretty boy with light brown hair hugging a teddy bear half his size stood behind me. He seemed to be around 15.. My heart skipped a beat as he leaned in, his head next mine and looked at the duckie in my hands. I froze. "So? Do you like him?" He whispered. Chills raced down my back as I felt his breathe against my ear.
"U-uh.. I mean. Yea.. I do.. He's pretty cute.." I managed a small smile as I moved away from him.
"Aigoo~ You think so?" He smiled brightly. Heh, cute. Wait, what? No no no.. I probably meant the duckie.. Yea.. But.. Aish.. I blushed a little as he took the stuffed toy from me his hand brushing against mine.
"So.. You made him?" I asked. And he nodded happily.
"My father owns the store and he taught me when I was little. Now he's at home with Eomma so he left the store to me. I work when I don't have school." He smiled and paused. "You look familiar."
"Huh... Me?" I pointed at myself.
"Of course, silly.. Do you happen to go to Seoul Arts High School?" I nodded slowly.
"Aren't you in my writing class?" He knit his eyebrows together.
Now that I think about it.. He did seem familiar. "Lee Sungjong?" I asked.
He nodded. "Mmhm~" He's my age?! But he looks so young~ He looks too good to be my age.. He then looked down at the toy duckie. "Would you like this?"
I shyly nodded. "Ne." I reached for my wallet but he stopped me.
"Here, have it." He gave me the animal and smiled brightly. He was really pretty.. Maybe prettier than me.. Aish what am I saying?
"But.. but I should pay for it.. I can't just take it.."I tried to give it back to him but he refused.
"A cute duckie for a cute girl." He smiled and pinched my cheek. I looked away as I felt my cheeks heat up.
"Thank you." I mumbled and left.
As I glanced back at my sketch of Sungjong and his teddy bear, I felt a note hit my head. What the hell? Aish.. I looked back to see Sungjong smile at me. So it was that pretty boy.. Anyone else and I would've snapped. I picked up the note and read it. "Hey, I need your help on something.. Would you mind going with me after school?" I sighed.. Even his hand writing was prettier than mine..
"Sure.. What do you need help on?" I threw the paper back at him and watched him read it. His smiled widened and he put a finger to his lips. His naturally pink lips.. And his feminine fingers.. Aish what am I thinking?! I sighed as I waited for the bell to ring. C'mon.. 5 4 3 2 I heard the other students cheer and drown out the teacher's monotone voice. I gathered my stuff and saw him waiting by the door. He took my arm and dragged me out of the school. I blushed wildly.
I broke the silence as we walked down the steps. "So.. what do you need help with?" He reached inside his bag.
"Aha!" He took out a small spool of thick thread. It was a creamy light blue. "I wanted to go look for this color of thread because I was planning on making something but I don't have enough," he explained.
I nodded. "So we're going to look for it?"
"Ne! Let's go!" He dragged me to the craft store and went to the back of the store. I stared in awe. The whole wall was covered with different types of thread and string. Thick, thin, blue, green, red, rough, soft; whatever you name it. He let go of my hand and I felt myself pout a little and he smiled. He led me to the blue section and gave me a small section of the ideal thread. I found one of the same color but it was too thin. I continued looking but rejected almost all of them. What I didn't know was that Sungjong was watching me as I looked for it.
"Aish! I can't find it!" I groaned. Sungjong chuckled.
"Aigoo~ you're so cute~" he pinched my cheek.
I pouted, "Oppa... I can't find it." aish when did I use aegyo?
"I know.."
"What do you mean?" I knit my eyebrows in confusion.
"This thread is rare since I got it imported from France."
"Then why'd you make me look for it?!" I wasted my time here looking for a piece of string thats chances of being is is 1-0..
"Well.. I wanted an excuse to spend time with you.." he mumbled.
I blushed and looked down. "I'm sorry then.." I mumbled too.
His smile was back pretty soon and I couldn't help but smile too. "I'll make it up to you~" he said.
"How?"
"Hmm... how bout mochi? I'll buy you lots of mochi~" he spread his arms out.
I chuckled. "I guess that would work."
He came closer to me. "You're pretty when you laugh you know? Don't ever stop smiling." I felt my cheeks heat up a little. He dragged me out of the store and to the mochi place. I spent the rest of the day with this pretty boy. And it was the the best day I had in a long time.
Thank you for reading~ Sorry for any mistakes it was pretty quick..
