Lullaby
Dream Among Stars Poetryi. We are the remnants of fools who
do not know the power of bed-time
fairy tales and wide-eyed stars that
blink back with the same wonder and
bewilderment as their fellow
onlookers.
ii. You painted miracles on my skin
with fervor and tenderness as the sun
evaporated my tears, and the moon
listened to our secrets and swore not
to tell a soul
(though we did not see his fingers
were crossed)
iii. And my old twinkling friends
continue to spit out Oxygen, smiling
as I shrivel to dust.
These words are all I have left to hold
