East Side Story

Description

Gangs, criminals, money, power and love. Ever heard of West Side Story? This is the Asian counterpart...with a twist.

Foreword

Once upon a time, there was an infamous gang that terrorized and ruled the underground of South Korea. They dominated the black market with smuggled cars and gadgets, and yes, a little drugs in the middle. It is not baffling that the progressively blooming economy of Korea has its downticks such as gang formations and black markets; the only baffling and eluding fact here is that the ones responsible for the underground economy money circulation are a bunch of good-looking boys in their mid twenties.

They called themselves Super Junior and only those who creep in the underground world know of their existence. No one knows exactly how long they’ve been around or when they started doing their illegal whereabouts but they had their first recorded run in with the law in 2006. Of course, being the intelligent and street smart gentlemen that they are, they got away with it with the help of Choi Siwon’s money. After the said incident, they’ve been invisible since. The one who took care of everyone and directed everyone’s tasks was the ultimate overlord, Kim Hee Chul, who everyone called Hee-nim out of fear and respect. It’s uncertain whether people adored him, but everyone seemed respect this hot-tempered, aloof man out of fear. At the tender of six, he learned how to work a pistol and as he grew older into his teens, he had more knowledge about arms and guns than  a regular police officer. That was his specialty—smuggling illegal weapons from abroad into South Korea. His biggest clients were congressmen and the country’s richest elites.

His right-hand man was Park Jung Su. Technically, he was the oldest but he had no air of firmness or authority like Hee-nim had. He went by the alias Alpha. By this time every member had accordingly adapted to an alias for security reasons; Jung Su brought upon this idea, when one of their staff ratted out on their identities to the authorities. According to him, by acquiring an alias, they can all develop an alter ego. They were normal boys after all but when they’re on the streets getting paper and hustling, they had to let their alter egos out to play, hiding the private side of them. Gang violence? It’s them. Sweeping changes in the stock market? It’s them. Someone is put in the hospital mysteriously? It’s still them. Everything that goes on around the dark nooks and cranes of Seoul in one way or another has something to do with them.

Super Junior used to comprise of 13 members, Han Kyung, the only Chinese member, betrayed them and left the business on his own. He fled back to China, where none of the members could hunt him down. Mysterious and elusive Kim Ki Bum was banished as he chose to go on another path before he could betray the notorious gang. Kim Young Woon on the other hand, has made many wrong choices and before he could put the group in jeopardy, he left and joined the army instead, where he could channel his tough attitude to good use. Currently, there are only ten permanent members: Hee Chul (Hee-nim), Jung Su (Dennis), Hyuk Jae (Silver), Dong Hae (Aiden), Dong Hee (Matthew), Kyu Hyun (Marcus), Sung Min (Vincent), Ryeo Wook (Nathan), Si Won (Andrew), and Ye Sung (Jerome). They were working happily side by side with ten, until that fateful day when the most united lethal gang of underground Korea tore into two fatal foes.
