They had been hit and were losing altitude fast.

Lee Jongsuk could barely hear his pilot’s words over the roaring in his ears.  His heart thumped loudly against his ribcage as the plane shook and jerked its way down.  One of the wings had been damaged badly and was sending out streams of black smoke.  The controls in front of him flashed red and yellow as they spun faster and faster towards a mountain side.

This was it.  He had never expected that his life as a pilot would be so short-lived.  Having graduated from the Academy only months ago, he had been looking forward to finally becoming a seasoned pilot.  Each day in the air had felt exciting and flying with his main pilot had been simply thrilling.  Today, too, he had expected nothing but peaceful skies during his usual patrol.  None of them had expected a planned out attack from the enemy.

“Snap out of it Jongsuk!” his pilot roared as he tried to steer the falling plane, “We need to eject!”

Jongsuk felt his eyelids droop as the familiar sensation of unconsciousness washed over him.  He had tried his very best to avoid passing out but, alas, his experience was still too green.  As the mountainside approached, he felt his eyes roll to the back of his head.  He was numb with shock and as regret filled his heart, he succumbed to the darkness.

Super short, I know!  This is more like the prologue of the story.  This part was in "Return to Base"; I highly recommend the movie!  LJS plays such a cutie in there!  More to come very soon!
