They were three best friends, Nam Woohyun, Kim Sunggyu and Kim Yeon Ae but Woohyun and Yeonae became lovers. One day they had to part ways. They still could have spent more time together but when Woohyun was blinded by anger, depression and jealousy he thinks otherwise. Maybe his love for her wasnt strong enough. Maybe he only thought that it was but if he really did, he would have put even a little bit of effort. Probably his anger, depression and jealousy made him not want to try.
She didnt care and continued trying because she loved him too much to let him go. She would wait for hours and came home alone without anyone walking her there because he would never come. She felt that she should let him go but once she would come close to doing that, she would remember all the things they did together and love him all over again.
What would she do when she sees him with another girl? Even though he claims to be only friends with her but she cant help but feel jealous because the two of them sticked together like glue just like how she and him used to be.
Waiting doesnt seem worth it anymore and trying was hopeless but its the heart that cares too much and the mind that is too much of a fool because of the heart.
Sunggyu tries to comfort her wailing heart and for a short time he managed to make her forget but it didnt last long.
After spending more time with her he sees the feelings that were hidden long ago. He felt the need to comfort her and be by her side but being more than a friend so when he confesses what would happen to the three of them? Will she accept and forget about Woohyun and let him go or would Woohyun feel jealous and realize his mistake and fight for her love?
Foreword
That day Yeonae was waiting for Woohyun as usual. She waited outside the school gate and she kept glancing inside to see if he had already come out. She was unsure if he had already left without her but she continued waiting for him.
That was until she saw him with non other than Yoo Jiae, who he claims to be only friends with but it seems otherwise when he walked that other girl home and not his own girlfriend. Yeonae sighed and headed home with a heavy hear.
It was heartbreaking and she was surely hurt but that was not the first time so she just let it be. When she got home she went to her room. She took a shower to calm her mind but it wasnt helping at all. She grabbed her phone and tried texting him.
"Hey," was what she texted to Woohyun but the reply never came.
She sighed after staring at her phone for hours. It was already late at night but it wasnt midnight yet. She decided to take some fresh air at the park. Yeonae sneaked out of her house and ran to the park.
She thought taking a walk would ease her mind but it made her sadder instead. Walking in the park made her remember their long strolls together and how they would stay up late to watch the stars until midnight but now she was alone.
Her heart ache like never before. She arrived at a bench and stared at it with teary eyes. It was the seat that they both used to sit at and they would hold hands and stare at the sky, searching for the brightest star.
"What are you doing?" Yeonae asked her boyfriend who was busily searching for something at the sky.
"The brightest star," he said.
Yeonae stared at the sky too and searched with him in silence. Woohyun looked down and stared at her girlfriend with loving eyes. "Kim Yeonae," he called out.
Yeonae turned her head to Woohyun and hummed in response.
"You are my brightest star," he suddenly said.
Yeonae was surprised, her cheeks turing red and hot. She punched his arms lightly, "You're so cheesy,"
She couldnt hold it anymore. She burst in tears and crouched down to the ground, "Why is it everywhere I go, I would always remember you, Nam Woohyun?" she screamed out loud.
There were no one there but a couple and that couple was coincidentally Sunggyu and his date. "That voice is familiar," said Sunggyu.
His date's eyebrows raised, "Who is that?" she asked.
Both of them stared at Yeonae who was crouching on the floor with her face burried in her palms. Sunggyu quickly realized that it was Yeonae and rushed to her, leaving his date confused and frowning.
"Yeonae," he said and crouched down in front of her. He slowly hold her wrist and took her hand away from her face, "What's wrong?"
Yeonae looked up and saw a blurry image of Sunggyu. After seeing Sunggyu she hugged him and cried harder but not saying anything.
Sunggyu could tell that Woohyun caused this so he didnt say anything and hugged her back. Hushing her in a comforting manner.
His date came closer to them with her arms crossed and brows furrowed. Sunggyu forced Yeonae to stand by holding her shoulder and lift her up only to make her sit on the bench.
He tured to his date, "I'm sorry. This is Yeonae, my bestfriend. She needs me right now so I have to end our date here," he explained.
His date didnt understand why he would choose Yeonae over her, "I'm supposed to be your future girlfriend and you have to choose to be my boyfriend or her bestfriend," she said sternly.
"Her, forever and always. If I am to have a girlfriend, she would have to understand that," he said while looking at Yeonae.
His date stomped out of there with a frown on her face.
Sunggyu went to sit beside Yeonae and hugged her. Yeonae wanted to tell him so much to go and be with his date but she cant utter a word because she wanted him there too. She could only cotinued sobbing into his arms.
"Why does it hurt so much, Gyu?" she asked in between sobs.
Sunggyu sighed, "You want to know why?" he asked and Yeonae nodded, "its because of your heart that cares to much and your mind that is too much of a fool because of your heart,"
