You’re immune.

You really are.

You’re immune to them—those malevolent creatures that have recently come out of the closet…or rather, coffin. You aren’t one to fall for their charms—youthful, enigmatic ruses, porcelain skin, hypnotic gazes, soft-spoken words promising beauty and eternity—everything is a scam to you. 

While ignorant boys and gullible girls would literally kill to have one of them sinking teeth into their flesh, you scoff, imagining just how much they would regret it afterwards. Not only are they thieves of humanity’s lifespan, but also treacherous demons in disguise. 

I’m immune to them, you chant in your mind. I am.

But you know the truth. You’re painfully aware that you most definitely are not.

At least, not to him.  

And he knows it too.
