STEPS

paste image onto canvas

blend using layer masks.
(see previous tutorial on blending)

paste next image.

multiply, blend.

IN A SEPARATE WINDOW: i had this image and blended
so that the person in the middle is gone. 

pasted that into my original canvas, multiply.

pasted original version onto canvas.

blended

new layers, used black and white brushes and blurred it to create a smooth base.

added a vibrance layer to bring out the colors. (layer > new adjustment layer > vibrance)
