After my father was sent to prison , this police man that captured my father keeps coming to our house and forces his way into our house and onto my mom, I tried to stop him but what can a 15 girl like me can do,

But even so I had to try but every time I do he would just slam head to the wall and throw me into the closet where I helplessly listen to my mother’s cry for help.

“MAMA!!!”

After hours of waiting the door would open reveal my battered and mama, all we can do was cry we only had each other, And I was too weak to save her.

I tried to report to the police but they wouldn’t be believe me saying how the most respected chief of police could would such a thing especially coming from a con artist child.

Not only we been out cast by our family members, I was brutally bullied and battered in school, cause rumor got out my mother was seducing the chief of police to pay for our debt.

Even I cry for the truth no one will listen, everyone to stupid to see his lie to deaf to hear us out they only listen to those had influence then those who doesn’t, They will never look deeper and find out whether it’s true or not.

That what they called mom, I would offend find my mom in her room dazing off, lifeless and it scared me it made me thing I was going to lose her.

I worked, I didn’t care what people thought of me I worked, I don’t care if they gave me small amounts as long as I can buy something to eat. I’m fine with it.

As long as I protect my mom from people around us, I’m fine, do what you want, I’ll take it all

“what are you doing here” I sneered at chief of Police Choi

He smirked at me, “what else… now where’s your mother” he ask as he try to proceed to step inside when threw a punch on the loud startling him

“Get out” I snarled “wha- who do you think you are you, brat I’m---” but I cut him off

“You’re a low scum, that uses his title like he deserves it when in fact you are fraud! Much worser Fraud than my FATHER!” I shouted but then he slapped me

“You brat” he growled then roughly pushed me down to and shut the door “WHAT GETT OFF!!!” I scream

He chuckled “since you let me have your mother, I’ll have you then” he sneered I tried to struggled out of his hold

“NO!!!” I cried when he rip my top in half

 “NO!! STOP!!” I scream as I saw him rustling with his belt

“AAAAARRRRGGGH!” I open my eyes and shock to see a knife plunge to his back

I quickly pushed him off and turn to see my mom panting, she pulled me up and hid me behind her

“Get out” she growled, as Mr. Choi start get up and pulled the knife out form his back

“you !, who do you think I am!” he shouted

“I don’t care who you are, if you touch my daughter again I will KILL YOU!” she shouted like a mad woman,

Never have I seen my mother like this , Mr. Choi looked scared and back away “you’ll regret this” he threaten before getting out

Once he was gone I collapse down to the floor and cling to my shirt while mom stood there.

“go change into new once and come meet me in the basement” she said coldly before going down.

I did what my mom told me and change and headed to the basement

Once I was down I saw the room was totally dark and the only source of light were there candle panted in the middle of the room.

“mom?” I quivered as I cautiously look around “mom… I’m getting scared now” I shiver

“you don’t have to be dear” I jump and yelp out of fright

“Mama! You scared me!” I sneered to see my mom standing before me holding something behind her

“what are you holding?” I ask, seeing she was giving me a cold stare

“mama? “ I whispered, she approach me and each step I took a step back until I hit the wall, I shut my eyes scared of what she might me holding , when suddenly I felt something soft pushed against my face.

I open my eyes to see it was weird looking doll, I looked at my mom then to the doll

“what this?” I ask, as I examine the doll

“a doll, a Voodoo Doll” she answered as she turn away

“A What!” I exclaim I took a look back at the doll and thought this can’t be a voodoo doll, voodoo dolls are made of straw not cotton. But then again it look like a voodoo doll, maybe that what mom meant.

“You heard me.. And this are”she turn the lights on, blinding me for the moment and in front of me  was a large chest that I never seen before.

Mom went over and open the chest, it made a weird creak noise. Once it was fully open mom took something out and it was another doll but this time it was made out of wood and middle of the doll it had a name “Leo”.

I peep over to the chest and saw few other doll like this Leo doll, and this doll’s were the only content of this chest.

“these are the dolls” she said, I only nodded I glance over at my mom who looked so different

And it’s freaking me out “mom” I started but couldn’t finish when she grab my shoulders and shook me a little

“listen to me Minyoung” she quivered

“is something dangerous happens, call for this dolls understand?” she said I frown my brows not understanding what she was trying to say

“this dolls are willing to do anything for you, they will serve you, they will even kill for you” her hold tighten

“minyoung, I want you understand this, these doll are meant to protect you” she said

I looked into her eyes and saw no hint of lie or doubt in them,

“Minyoung! Do understand me if something goes wrong, or something happen … then call for them” she said, i gulped and nodded

She smiled and pulled into a tight embrace “very good honey, very good” she chanted

I didn’t understand what was going on, or why my mom was acting weird at that time, all I thought was
