Everything Will Come True

Description

Whatever the reason is, you need me

Me that becomes a doll to fight for you

You call me when you’re hurting

You only disclose it to me

Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you

Tick tock tick tock...

Everything will come true

She had never had much luck, and the luck she did have usually ended up being of the bad sort. It would figure that she would be the one to lose the game, to have to face the penalty. It would also figure that her friends would choose the penalty to be exploring the old, run-down mansion that was infamous in their town for being haunted. And it was just the icing on the cake when her friends decided to spook her by slamming the door shut just as she entered. What happened next... She wished it was all just a horrible dream.

Now she has to cope with becoming a doll, a slave of sorts to six men -- or warlocks, as she has come to infer -- while trying her hardest to figure out just what her purpose for serving them really is, which is much harder than one would think; not a single person is willing to give her a straight answer. Of course, that would be due to the fact that there is much more to these men than she thinks, and as Hakyeon would say, "a doll doesn't need to know such things."

Foreword

"You're just not looking hard enough, silly girl."

A short, high-pitched scream ripped from as her hands flung themselves to her chest to clutch at where her heart was pounding frantically. In the blink of an eye a young man had appeared in front of her, towering over the frightened woman easily with her small frame, a devilish smirk gracing his full lips. She would have taken more time to admire his handsome face and well-dressed figure had it not been for the current situation she found herself facing.

"See? You just had to look harder. Now," he leaned in closer, bringing his face level to hers as his eyes lost their mirth, replacing it with a coldness that made her shiver. "What are you doing in my home?"

~...~

"You... You need me," she met his eyes then, realization hitting her hard and fast. "You need me, that's why you kept me here and attached that doll to me -- You need me."

He glared at her, eyes dark and sharp as the blade of a knife. "We don't need you. You're just a way to keep us entertained and make living here a little less of a hassle. Don't mistake--"

"No, Hakyeon," his jaw clenched, but she didn't much care that she would more likely than not be punished for addressing him by his name so casually. "I'm not mistaken, so don't even try to convince me of that. I'm right, and you know it."

The young woman didn't dare to breathe as the well-dressed man before her continued to glare at her. Not a word was exchanged for several minutes, the two settling for staring the other down and waiting to see who would break first. When she didn't falter, Hakyeon sighed, obviously displeased, and leaned back against the book case behind him. Heart beating impossibly fast, she watched him, waiting patiently for what the frustrating man would say. He met her eyes again, his gaze much more subdued than earlier, almost pained.

"You're right," he pursed his lips. "We do need you."
