Lone Daffodils

Description

He was told many stories of his older sister.

Little did people understand was that he remembered quite a lot about her.

She loved the spring, and her favourite flowers were daffodils. They were nice to look at..

Foreword

Fei Jie used to tell me funny stories of her and Taekwoon Ge, and he used to sit silently. I can remember that strange look in his eyes – it was the look of sadness. That was a concept I hadn’t come to terms with yet, because it was such a wide spectrum for one to experience.

I found out then, that Fei Jie liked the spring because it meant new life, and that she liked daffodils because they were pleasant to the eyes. I made a note to myself when I was younger to plant the whole garden with daffodils, because Daddy told me Fei Jie might not be able to go outside for a long time ever again.

She used to cough a lot, once I ran into the room thinking she was going to throw up again. By the time I had arrived, I can remember seeing her face in Taekwoon Ge’s chest, ears flushed red, and I could imagine the tears streaming down her face as she demanded for it to be gone.

Being little, I was curious as to what it was.

“Taekwoon Ge,” I asked once, when I was made to sit at the dinner table for the first time in a week, “Why does Fei Jie want it to be gone? Gege, what is it?”

Well, this didn't turn out as planned.

Tbh it's for my Creative Writing part of my English portfolio, expect more to come because there are quite a few ideas and I might just force my teacher to choose her favourite.

I have a dislike for this title, if anyone can help me rename it, please comment the suggestion. I'm actually trying hard not to tear my hair out at the horrid title.

Anyway, if you like, comment, subscribe or upvote!
