I think my parents have a dream of having a daughter with a height of a supermodel.

                When I get home with a lunchbox with food, I get scolded and say that I’ll never grow.

                But it’s their fault for packing me a feast for a 30 minute lunch break.

                I looked around for someone, until I found one boy on a table sitting alone. I didn’t even know who he was. I didn’t know how he looked like.

                But I needed him to eat some of my food so I don’t get scolded again.

                I sat in front of him and stared at him in the eye. I was never any good when it came to talking with other kids.

                “D-D..” I stuttered.

                I sighed set my head down on the table with my arms covering my face.

                For the rest of my life I’m going to be scolded for not eating my food!

                The boy across from me poked the top of my head. I peeked out from a hole between my arms and observed him.

 He had straight black hair with his bangs swept to one side of his head, mono-lidded eyes, and the cheeks you would have an urge to pinch!

                “What is it?” he asked.

                “You need to eat my food, please.” I muttered.

                It took him a few seconds to respond. “I didn’t hear you.”

                Instead of talking again, I took my lunchbox out and opened it to reveal neatly stacked kimbap fit for two people to eat.

                “D-do you want some? I need you to eat my food, please.” I offered, blushing like a tomato.

                He laughed and shook his head, “You talk funny! And I already ate, but.. There’s still room in my belly!”  

                I watched as he started eating two or three at a time with his fingers.

                “I’m Jinki! What’s your name?”

                I was surprised at his sudden introduction. Since, no one ever really talked to me, my social skills weren’t as good as other peoples’.

                “J-Jinki? I’m Gayoung.”

                “Gayoung-ssi, how old are you?”             

                “I’m nine.. but I’m in my fifth year of primary school!”

                “Really?! We’re in the same grade, but I’m your oppa.” He snickered.

                “..Oppa?” I looked at him with a shocked expression plastered on my face.

                “Mmm! Girls always cook food for their oppa! I see it on tv all the time!”

                “..Jinki oppa.”

                Did this mean we were friends? I’ve never had a real friend before. I’m so happy I finally made one, when I least expected it.

                I smiled at him with tears trickling down from my eyes, “Jinki oppa, gomawo.”
