My Time is Up
By My Side ForevermoreKrystal POV
I’m really tired. I just spent the entire day practicing the dance for an upcoming performance. It’s bad enough that we finished very late. Now, my manager can’t drive me to my place so I have to drive myself home. This day just seems to find ways of leeching whatever energy I have left.
*Cellphone Rings*
“Hey sis, what’s up?” I said as I answered the call.
“Nothing, it’s kinda late. Are you coming home for the night?”
“Yeah, I am. I’ll be home in around 15 minutes”
“Okay. Drive safe. I’ll be waiting for you.”
“I will.”
*Hangs up*
It was my sister. She gets concerned for me quite a lot. Well, that’s having a sister for you. At least someone is looking out for me all the time.
As I put down my phone, a sudden white light blinded me. Crap! It was an oncoming car. Some idiot must have been driving in the wrong lane. Instinctively, I swerved to the right to avoid it.
Just then and there, I lost control of the car. As much as I want to turn the car back to the left, I just can’t control it anymore. The car is just too heavy now.
Time is going so slow. Every second goes passes by like a minute.
“Is this really happening to me? Am I going to die? I don’t know. Oh God. Please, not now. Someone, Lord, please do something. “ I say to myself as I brace for the inevitable crash.
*Crash*
I try to open my eyes as I still have a small amount of consciousness with me. I try to look around and move whatever body part I can possibly move. Then, my eyes fixate on something. What is this red liquid? Oh my God!? Is this blood? This can’t be possible. I try to scream for help but no matter how hard I try, nothing is coming out.
Memories and experiences are now flashing right by. Is this what death is? No, it can’t be. I’m still not ready. I’m still young and I still have so much to do. There’s so much I have to experience. To feel successful, To feel elated and strong. To feel love and be loved in return. I still have yet to experience those emotions. This is not the way I should go.
Now, the edges of my sight are now darkening. My vision is fading and blurring. Is my time already up? I refuse to believe that thought.
“God, if you’re there. Give me another chance.”
*Passes out*
