In his 5^th summer holidays, a 9 year old Lee Changsun visited a distant great aunt’s hometown. There he met a 6 year old Bang Cheolyong and the two immediately clicked. Brought up in a home consisting of mainly women and a quiet, reserved father, the younger boy was captivated by his capable hyung. Changsun more than enjoyed the attention of being an elder and the summer was spent quickly. Changsun left Jeollanam-do with a promise to Cheolyong that they will for sure meet again.

When Cheolyong turned fifteen, his eldest sister married and he visited Seoul with her and his brother-in-law. Cheolyong’s quest to find Changsun had gone pear-shaped; though Changsun had been found, the then eighteen-year-old wanted nothing to do with him.

After wallowing in embarrassment, pain and pure hatred of Changsun who had left him behind to pursue fame, Cheolyong wanted revenge. He vowed to become more successful than that arrogant man and left to Seoul.
