Part I

Turn Off The Light

Sunny and windy afternoon in Daejoon Park ...

Kevin was sitting on the bench park and staring at the screen of his cell phone, then smiled broadly. Today is November 24, so tomorrow is my birthday... he thought. I wonder what will happen tomorrow. While thinking about pleasant things that might happen on his birthday, his eyes searching for someone whom he waiting for. Kevin sighed, felt disappointed because he not found what he looking for. He then looked back at the screen of his cell phone. I'm waiting for an hour already! He thought irritably.

Suddenly, a slap landed on his shoulder. Kevin immediately turned around to stare at the person. He wished he was the one whom he waiting for, but his face turned grim as he knew who was the person.

"What are you doing here?" Jaeseop asked as he sat beside Kevin.

"Why you need to know?" Kevin asked back. "I'm sorry, but I don’t want to be disturbed at this time. You'd better..."

            "Yaaa... I won’t bother you!"

"Maybe, but your presence makes me feel a bit uncomfortable."

"Uncomfortable?" Jaeseop asked back with a frown, did not understand Kevin’s words. "What do you mean?"

Kevin sighed again, then looked at him sharply. "I know you like me, right?"

Jaeseop’s eyes rounded in surprise, then paused for a moment and finally nodded slowly. "Do you like me too?"

"That's why I don’t want to close to you, Jaeseop ah. I don’t like you, I like someone else," said Kevin. "I'm afraid you keep hoping I'll like you if we close to each other. I don’t want you to get hurt because of me, Jaeseop ah. I'm sorry..."

Without expected, Jaeseop chuckled. "I know you don’t like me and I don’t care," he said, staring fixedly at Kevin and smiled. "Let's just say I'm your fan. How’s it?"

When Kevin was about to answer, someone called him from a distance and ran towards them. Kevin immediately stood up from his seat and beat the man's chest lightly when he had been in front of him. "Where have you been, huh?! I've been waiting for you here, you know!" he muttered at him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." said Eli. "One of the tire of my car was broke, so I had to go to fix it," he said. His eyes rounded in surprise when he discovered Jaeseop’s presence among them. "Hi!" he said briefly on Jaeseop, then looked back at Kevin. "We're still going to go, right?"

"Of course yes! Do you want to cancel it?!" said Kevin in annoyed tone.

"No, of course not," Eli replied quickly. "Should we invite Jaeseop to go with us too?"

            "Yaaa! Ellison Kim! You really..."

"What’s going on with you?" asked Jaeseop who had been silent just watching them. "You will go on a date? Are you guys dating?"

"Yaaa! Why do you always want to know, huh? Mind your own business!" exclaimed Kevin to Jaeseop.

"Oh, wow... you really look scary when angry, Kevin ah..."

"Just stop," cut Eli. Then he pulled Kevin’s hand, hugged his waist and stared at Jaeseop. "We have to go, Jaeseop ah. Next time we will go together, ok?"

Jaeseop nodded. "Take care our Vin, Eli yah!"

"Yaaa! Who do you think I am? Five-year-old kid?"

Eli and Kevin were standing in front of a movie theater, considering what movie they would watch later.

"What should we watch?" Kevin asked while looking up at the movie posters one by one.

"You just choose the movie you want to watch," said Eli.

"Is it okay?" asked Kevin again, then answered with a nod steady by Eli. Kevin looked back at the movie posters. Shortly thereafter, he pointed to one of the posters. "That's it! Hoon said this movie was very good," he said with a broadly smile.

Eli turned his gaze on the poster that pointed by Kevin, and his eyes rounded in shock when he read the title of the movie. "Are you sure? I mean... do you want to watch this movie? Conjuring?!" asked Eli in a surprised tone.

Kevin nodded with a plain expression on his face. He even looked a bit confused when he looked at Eli’s surprised with his chosen films. "Yes, Hoon said this movie was very good. I want to watch it! You don’t like it?" he asked, still with his innocent face.

"Didn’t I tell you that I will watch any movie you choose?" Eli reminded. "But, Kevin ah, this movie is not the kind of movie that you watch frequently. Are you sure you want to watch it?"

Kevin nodded. "I'm sure, because Hoon said..."

"Yaaa! What's wrong with you? Do you think what is good for Hoon is also good for you?"

"Yaaa! What's wrong with you? If you don’t want to watch it, we could cancel it! I'm fine, but you're disappointing me!"

"No, no..." Eli replied quickly. Then he looked at Kevin who looked visibly upset at him with a sulky face. "All right, let’s go in, we’ll watch this movie!" he said. "But, you shouldn’t feel regret after watching it, ok?"

"Ok!" said Kevin. "Why should I feel regret? Hoon said the movie was very good."
