She truly liked watching dramas; she watched Korean, Japanese and English dramas. She told him it was like living a different life for an hour a day. Their taste differed, that’s why they rarely ever got to watch anything together, but that one drama was an exception. They spent a month and a half watching and talking about it, investing so much time into it. It was very well written, the cast were really impressive and the scenes were beautiful. It had everything.
Everything except a happy ending.
That was why she spent the previous three hours sobbing into his chest. He could relate of course, he shed a few tears when she wasn’t looking, the ending was way too much, but he didn’t cry like a little girl whose favourite Disney princess died before she managed to marry the prince.
“Oppa, do you believe in reincarnation?” she asked him when she finally managed to quiet down a bit. The series finale wasn’t happy but it did allow some hope through reincarnation.
He did not believe. He figured telling her that would result in more crying though; he didn’t want to see that. “I never really thought about it” she nodded and found her way back to his arms, silently asking for a hug, he complied, slowly rocking her back and forth. He knew he was probably being used like a teddy bear now but he didn’t mind.
“But do you think it’s possible?”
“I never thought about that baby”
“Think about it” she shifted to look into his eyes.
He knew it was more than a demand, it was a gentle threat. “I think it’s not impossible” she nodded and went back to his embrace, making her way to sit on his lap; he realized that he was definitely used as a teddy bear.
“It can’t be impossible. Isn’t that what lovers say when they have to part?”
That subject was a bit sensitive, lovers parting. He really didn’t like thinking about it. He read numerous books where it says they will meet again in another life, but that just wasn’t his type. What happens if they don’t meet again? He always prefered happy ending because he didn’t want to think. He was a realistic, and hoping upon miracles wasn’t his thing.
“So it’s possible that they meet again right?”
“Of course baby” he felt her hold on his neck soften a bit, the crying apparently withered her. His hand went around her knee to lift her up and lay her on the bed, she didn’t bother arguing. “Did you brush?” she nodded. “I’ll go shower then, you can go to sleep”
“Umm” she reached up to pull him toward her and into a goodnight kiss.
