Sin Myeong looked at the tiny woman dubiously “ so you can speak to ghosts”

 

Joel just glared at him as she furiously shook her head “ Noooo, I speak to spirits. There’s no such thing as ghosts. There are spirits and demons but no ghosts I don’t understand why people get that confused.”

 

“I didn’t know there was a difference…” He sat there as his mind zoomed to understand the turn that his life was going. Outside he seemed like a stoic and cold individual but inside he was scared and anxious . Worried that what this crazy lady was spewing was true and what it meant for his life while also the little boy in him was terrified of how his heart would take it if she was lying.

 

“I know you don’t fully believe me and i really wanna show you something. I know you’ll probably believe me after this but i want you to promise me something…” She looked slightly uncomfortable

 

“What is it?” He asked wearily

 

“Don’t cry. After i show everyone this they always start to cry and i don’t know how i would feel if you started to cry okay pabo oppa?”

 

his head snapped and he was about to give her a tongue lashing about her disrespect when she shushed him “Yah I need to focus. Just focus on my face okay?”

 

He glared at her as he was about to let her have it when he saw it… Her face was- was changing?

 

He knew that it couldn’t be possible but his mind told it couldn’t be possible but his eyes and heart told him differently. He was seeing it. Her face really WAS changing.

 

It still was the same color and her bone structure still looked the same but Joel’s eyes weren’t as big now, they were more slanted at the corner. Her lips were different, her bottom lip wasn’t as wide and it was a tiny bit less full. Her nose wasn’t as stumpy as it was before. He saw her change and his heart told him why before she even spoke

 

“Umma...”

 

“It’s been a while Leo-nim” She smiled as she gave him her special smile. That smile that she  always gave him when he needed it the most

 

“Umma? Is that really you?” With trembling hands he touched her face and just like she used to do when he was younger; she leaned into his touch and wrinkled her nose.

He felt the first tear fall.

 

“Umma” He couldn’t help it as he touched her face. It scared him because even the voice was the same. As he looked at her he got a crazy thought. he leaned in to check “ Umma even the smell is the same. Tell me i’m not crazy. Tell me i’m not crazy. That this isn’t a dream and that this is really happening.”

 

“Yah she told you not to cry” Teukie scolded even as her lip trembled and her eyes started to well “ No baby you aren’t crazy”

 

“Umma i’ve missed you so much” He kept touching her face and smiling at her

 

“My son is so big aigoo Look at my Myeongie being so big aigoo” She just smiled as she started to cry she couldn’t help it as she started to rain kisses on his face. Before Sin Myeong would whine and pout whenever his mom did this but after so long of not feeling it ,all he felt was joy.

 

Neither of them noticed the heart broken girl that was looking at them.

 

Ha Na was too far to hear what was being said but she saw said it all. Why was that crazy woman from the plane kissing Oppa and why was he letting her do it? In fact why had he even touched her first? It felt like she was walking in on such a precious moment and her heart broke since this should’ve been her moment with oppa.

After they’d been crying for at least five minutes Teukie wiped his face and soothed him “ Yah yah that’s not why i came. We actually need your help.”

 

“With what ?” He asked even as he hiccupped. He couldn’t help but smile thinking of if any of his business partners could see him now. He knew they were terrified of him but here he was bawling like a baby.

 

“Joel needs your help. I need you to talk to her. Help her out to figure out why it is that my spirit is still on earth. Please i need you to do this for me” She looked at him pleadingly

 

“Why should i tell her anything about me? I don’t want anyone to know anything about my past besides i don’t want you to leave umma. I just got you back i don’t want you to leave again.” He pouted as he felt himself returning back to his ten year old self

 

“Yah if you don’t help her you’re still going to lose me” He looked up as he heard his mother’s voice she seemed terrified and so adamant about helping this girl

 

“What-What do you mean ?”

 

“If she doesn’t figure out why i’m still here, Myeongie, she dies. There is more at stake here for her than either of us. Sure something will happen to me but she will be punished far worse than I ever will. Please help her okay don’t give her a hard time. She tries to be strong and pretend like all this doesn’t bother her but it really does. Speaking of that please take care of her when i leave okay ?” She held his hand tightly

 

“Leave as in … forever?” He just got his umma back and he was already going to lose her

 

“No and ...yes. Take care of her when i leave forever but also she’s exerting a lot of strength to help me right now. I’m too weak to possess her so instead of our input being 60-40, for this possession I can’t give my 60 i’m only giving 15. She’s gonna come back to you exhausted, take care of her okay?”

 

He was so shocked but he nodded furiously

 

Afterwards she spoke to him for about 10 more minutes talking to him just like she used to and joked around with how big he was

 

They were just talking about when he figured out santa wasn’t real when he looked into her eyes and saw them blank

 

He got so terrified and and reached to shake her but by then life had already rushed back into her . He watched in panic as her features contorted back into the real owner’s.

 

He wanted to mourn the loss but then he saw that Joel looked so clammy and she was trying not to breath hard but he could see that she wasn’t feeling too well.

 

“Gwen cha na yo?” He asked as he touched her face

 

She stared at him blankly as she tried to catch her breath even as he saw that her cheeks were flaming red and as hot as they looked

 

He started to ask the question again when he saw her slide back on her shield aka her smile.

 

“Do you believe me now?” she asked excitedly  

 

He just sat there in shock “Neh I believe you”

 

“Yehet woot woot” She cheered  “Omo this was the easiest task I’ve ever had to do. Usually this part involves security guards, mace and threats”

 

Sin Myeong gasped in shock as Joel hugged him tight “ Wh-wh-what are you doing?!”

 

“Ko mo wo” She said into his shirt as she squeezed even tighter “kam sa ham nida , pabo oppa, for making this easy for me”

 

He didn’t know if she realized how vulnerable she sounded when she said that. He started to wonder how hard it must have been for her.

 

“How many gho-spirits have you had?”

 

“Your umma is the last one but in all i’ve been assigned 25” She said still in his shirt.

 

“25?!?! Is that how much most people are assigned?” he said shocked that she had to help that many people

 

“Not really. I really want to explain the mechanics of this but i feel exhausted. I’m going to come back tomorrow to explain it okay? I think jet lag is getting to me” She then did her fake smile again and waved before walking away “If you need anything come to my bakery it’s three blocks from here.”

 

He just sat there and gapped at her. Never has he ever felt so tired after talking to someone in his life

 

As Ha Na saw the weird woman walk away she came up to oppa “Who was that woman?”

 

He started as he saw her but then an idea flashed in his mind “Ha Na you need a job. TO KI YO!!!” He screamed after Joel

 

Joel looked startled giving him a questioning look before returning

 

“Ha Na-yah ah nyeong” She said calmly looking at both of them

 

“You know her ?” Sin Myeong asked confused

 

“She’s that creepy lady from the plane oppa”

 

“Oh” Sin Myeong looked at Joel in a new light after hearing about how Joel had insulted Ha Na on their plan since Ha Na hadn’t been able to fully talk in english to her. Yet something told him that Joel would never do that besides it wouldn’t be the first time that Ha Na had lied.

 

“Ha Na I hope you’re still not friends with that girl she’s bad for you” Joel childed but then she started as she read the spirit on Ha Na

 

“I’m so sorry for what your mother did to you” She started “But it was your own fault. Besides I don’t know why you’re so shocked that your neighbors did that to you. You knew that they were vultures and you loved their company when you were part of the flock”

 

Both of them just stood there gaping at her “What?”

 

“How did you know that ?” Ha Na asked confused

 

“ Pabo Oppa, remember when I told you that there were only spirits and demons in this world?”

 

“Neh..” Sin Myeong said terrified of where this conversation was going

 

“Well everyone of us have a demon on us, its part of being human. But sometimes we let our demon have too much of us so they start to grow and evolve … sorta like pokemon” She smiled softly at her comparison “ When they get to a certain size people like me can read these demons. The problem is Ha Na’s demon has become a little too big. Ha Na is letting her demon become too big its already obese and if this trend continues this demon is going t have to move on… taking Ha Na with it”

 

Both of them look at her with opened jaws

 

“You’re- you’re crazy. You’re a crazy liar. Oppa why are you with this mad woman?!?!?!” Ha Na stammered out

 

“ Take her with it as in she’s going to die? Why?  How ?”

 

“ She’s probably going to become like Jeong Da Bin” Joel said calmly as if it happened all the time . The problem was that it did.

 

Sin Myeong wanted to throw up because he’d seen the signs but hadn’t wanted to own up to it.

 

“Who?” Ha Na asked furiously

 

“A very popular actress that commits suicide” Joel said casually then joked “ Aigoo you need to be more on your k-drama game aigoo”

 

Sin Myeong wasn’t having any of Joel’s jokes right now “ Can she be saved also like you said about me and umma?”

 

“I don’t know from what i read about her from her spirit he’s already done a ton of damage”  then Joel smacked Ha Na on the arm as she read a new tidbit from the demon “Yah! If you ever pull what you pulled in Rome again i’ll kill you. Do you understand unnie?!?!?”

 

Ha Na was too shocked to say anything all she could do was nod

 

“What happened-” He started to ask

 

“Nothing” Both girls said quickly

 

“Ha Na you need a job right ?” Joel said as she read the demon that was trying to hid

 

“That’s actually what i was going to ask you about. You own a bakery . Do you need any workers?” Sin Myeong asked even as his stomach still churned due to the bile of what was going on with Ha Na

 

“Actually yeah and it comes with room and board. The only thing that you’d have to do is help pay for is food and help with chores. Although the wage is a tiny bit lower than what it would be if you worked at a regular bakery that’s only because it goes towards board. Also my best friends can kill it in the kitchen so you’ll be well taken care of.” Joel started “ Besides i really wanna keep an eye out on you”

 

Sin Myeong smiled internally because technically he hadn’t broken his promise of helping Ha Na but she would be taken care of and for some reason he really trusted Joel.

 

“Joel i’m trusting you with her” He said calmly

 

She just rolled her eyes and saluted him “Whatever”

 

“ You have to move out of the motel today right Ha Na?”  Joel asked studying her

 

Ha Na could only look in shock before nodding “ How did you know…”

 

“Well i have reserved a spot at the sauna for me and my friends as we wait for our apartment to be fixed you can stay and live with us ka jah” with that Joel looped her arm through Ha Na’s and dragged her away.

all Ha Na could do was be dragged away.

I've ben lazy just NOT posting. I actually had the story writen along with like 2 plus parts of the kpop challenge its just that the time to reread everything and post it is just to much. This will still have mistakes because i'm being lazy but i swear i'll post at least 2 more chapters before monday and maybe 3 chapters of the kpop challenge. =) I pinky promise =P
