Fragile
Fragile
Jinki rubbed his neck for the tenth time that day as he flopped onto the couch. It was stiff and sore, maybe he had practiced too hard? But their was no time for him to slack off.
The new choreography was physically demanding. And Jinki knew that his part was nowhere near as difficult Taemin's or the others so he believed he should work hard to show the best of his ability, especially since his dongsaengs were working just as hard to make this comeback a success. He didn't want to be injured so early and limit their comeback. He pressed onto his neck once more trying to find the source of the pain.
"You should rest." A soft voice insisted.
"Huh?" Jinki snapped out of his thoughts and dropped his hand, as his boyfriend came and sat down beside him handing him a bottle of ice water. He was still in his Naruto costume without the headband, black streaks slightly faded from his face. Knowing Jonghyun, Jinki was sure he would take a few more selcas before completely removing the costume.
"It's so obvious," Jonghyun remarked, placing his cold fingers from holding the bottle at his neck, "it hurts, right?"
The coolness felt nice against his neck but Jinki lied, "Not really."
"Stop lying!" Jonghyun replied, "I saw you rubbing your neck, and wearing the neck guard."
"Jonghyun..." Jinki whined, "it'll be fine, I'm going to put a pack on it." But he didn't make any action to move. Jonghyun slowly pulled the cold water bottle out of Jinki's hands and pressed it against his neck.
Jinki smiled as the cold slightly numbed the pain. "If you're injured you have to say so, then manager hyung can organise something."
"I'm not injured." To Jinki's surprise, Jonghyun moved around the couch and back hugged him. He internally groaned, why did he have to go so far to prove a point. "I won't kiss you." He flatly stated.
"See!" Jonghyun exclaimed, "you don't want to crane your neck!"
"No!" Jinki retorted, "You're being too annoying to kiss."
"Hey!" Jonghyun exclaimed, "I'm just concerned about my fragile boyfriend."
"Yeah... Fragile..." He murmured to himself frowning at the word 'fragile', why did it describe him so perfectly. Why was it him that couldn't do things as easily as his dongsaengs?
"But perfect!" Jonghyun countered redeeming his words, "plus you have the hardest moves, carrying me, and doing the propeller, so it's not your fault you're injured."
"Those aren't the hardest moves in the dance."
"Don't you remember Minho trying to do it." Jinki couldn't help but chuckle as he remembered when Minho replaced him with his flailing arms when people began first notice his pain.
"Yeah but what good will me saying that I'm injured get us."
"See you are injured!" Jonghyun smirked when Jinki admitted it, "it won't matter, Jinki, you don't have to dance and put pressure on yourself. The good it'll do is that you can rest and you'll only get better. Maybe Minho could carry me, no wait it's his part. I'll just jump! Although that may look weird...
"Will you shut up if I kiss you?"
Jonghyun paused then grinned before considerably moving forward so Jinki didn't have to crane his neck and pecked his lips.
That night Jinki heard Jonghyun on the phone with the manager and couldn't help but laugh at his over exaggeration , "Yes... He can't even move... Paralysed... He can't even come to the phone..."
