I'm here to announce the winner of HeeWan Mini Challenge.

All three stories greatly impressed me that I was so surprised and so confused to choose the winner. I even tried to find help from here and there and thanks to the very helpful friends and people in AFF, i manage to get two volunteers to help. haa. (there were some intended sarcasm there, if you did not notice, please do now. lol)

All three had very distinctive plot and styles that kept me on the edge in their own way. Really, I'm happy and feel blessed to be able to read such good fics. What have i done to deserve all this? aaaaahhh. (no, there wasn't sarcasm there, sorry if you thought there was any. :p)

Two of the stories received one vote each from my respective awesomely helpful guest judges, Raven82619 and rufina89, for the awesomeness of their stories. And I agree with the judges. They were both extremely well written and were both very creative and idk, can i say...perfection?

However, while waiting for the votes from my co-judges, I've read the three stories over and over to figure out my choice of winner (because i was getting worried nobody would help me decide) and my choice finally ended to be a different story than the ones chosen by the two co-judges. So, after much deliberation, I give the winning to...

THIS story

Country Boy

i'm very sorry to the judges whose choices didn't make it. Yes, the other two stories are very deserving to win in every other aspect, and while I will admit this one wasn't the most perfect if we go by sentence structures, spelling and all those grammar shiets. And it wasn't the most creatively original groundbreaking idea either. (in fact, it reminds me a lot of yknow...kdramas...aaaaahh) But i just can't deny that this story fits perfectly the requirements of the contest(n i love it anyway lol...i just prioritize plots over language since i'm no miss perfect english/native speaker myself). Their relationship as enemies was very clearly fleshed out. Even though we don't get the clear story from A to Z, but we know why/how/to what extent they're enemies. This is where this fic gets an edge over the other two fics which were, in my humble opinion, very creative and original and interesting in their own way. And i'm suspicious that maybe AyeeKon knew my weakness(ok just kidding really) when she made dongjun as the knight in shining armour considering i was rooting for dongjun the perfect guy who didn't get the girl..i mean...boy... in her other heewan fic that you should check out. Yes, winner gets her one other fic promoted. haa, impromptu additional prize. lol.

Besides, i love how the ending of both chapters in Country Boy shows an awesome reversal that gives me chills. In all its simplicity n traditional fashion, it fills in the requirement of the challenge n made me invested in the main characters and feel their gloom, suspense and exasperation. and may i add that i just love the title? it draws my curiosity even if didn't serve much in the plot. All in all, awesome n well deserved win.

now let's talk a bit about the other two fics.

Simba

This is a very witty piece of writing which is not surprising at all, knowing the writer's fanfics track record. It's very amusing and the characters are very human with their light and dark sides that you can't help but to admire them, especially Siwan's unpure thoughts, and Heecheol's unexpected mushiness love for animals and exaggeration and his tendency to act on impulse because of his fragile self esteem. And how the play they're doing is incorporated in their story. And how it ended messily yet casually with bad-aftertaste for me(that i LOVE) but i don't want to spoil it for you further. Even though HeeWan's relationship here are more towards misunderstood frenemies.

I decided on this fanfiction because I enjoyed the plot and the style of the writing was smooth. I liked how Siwan started out disliking Simba, but then only has Simba in the end. So ironic. Also, I feel that the fanfiction fit the criteria required for the contest. Overall I would consider this my favorite fanfiction out of the three. :D

Angels & Demons

This is a very imaginative piece, something i can never write in a thousand years. I don't even know how such ideas can be churned, i guess since I'm not so creative n doesn't read much...it's understandable that my mouth gaped open in awe, right? I love how the requirement that HeeWan needs to be enemies are translated in a clear concept of them being opposites (angel and demon) though if you go read it, you'll find how different or similar they are. haa. spoiler not intended. i find the backstory very well planned and thought because i don't think it's an easy thing to make a fantasy story to make sense. Though i don't really get the ultimate intensity feelings of why/what made them enemies other than being on the opposing sides. Other than that, it was very well written and very stylish for the lack of better word lol.

Now, there's something that made me very curious. All three fanfics have one thing in common. The reversal element, which i didn't include in requirement, but ended up being in all three fics, fashionably incorporated. i was mindblown by this fact. the outcomes of this challenge made me really happy bcuz i feel that going for different genre/relationship/requirement than the usual had really brought out gems that make the fanfic reader in me very happy. so, thank you again. Although i also noticed, only the Country Boy made a character really evil and i also noticed, none of the three stories took it all the way to darkness horrid tragical end. It's not a must anyway since i just said it only need to have a tragic element and all stories succeeded...i love different interpretations of tragic-one thing can have so wide range of meaning, but being a sadist i'd probly bring it all the way to gloomy tragic darkness if it were me. ok i did not say that. :p

and though this fic didn't made it on time to compete, but please feel free to check out  Nothing to Her by EmpireKids9. Which, if it had made it to compete for the winning fic, it'd bring the fourth different type of fic. I just love how all fics participating were very different and not the same kind of ideas. Diversity is beautiful. xD

And for the prizes...

Because there are just three contestants, i can't choose two winners cuz that would be too cruel to the third place.

Therefore, 

First place winner will receive : 30 karma + upvotes from judges (originally intended to be 25 for 3 or less contestants, but i just increase a bit bcuz i'm so impressed xD)

The other two fics are considered 2nd place, and will each receive 10 karma points each + upvotes from me + the other 1 or 2 judges depend on them lol, because of the favorable impression they gave us that made my two co-judges voted for each of these two stories. and if i may add, both Angels & Demons and Simba have very captivating posters that gave them some extra points for the pretties. i love me some pretty things.
