GIRLS.
Description
So this is another story that’s been on my mind for a while. There’s quite a few rolling around in my head so I might be posting a lot. But I really like the concept of focusing on 4 Asian mixed girls/women living in Tokyo, Japan. Following them as they deal with fame, love, family, and tragedy. Kind of a and the city feel. So without Further ado, let's meet the girls.
Characters:
Crystal Kay Williams (age-27)
The Fashion designer and business mogul. She is very dedicated to her brand called 'CK' and has worked hard to get where’s she's at today. She's definitely the brutally honest and straight forward one. She doesn't take from anyone and always speaks her mind. It's hard to believe she's married and has a kid.
Thelma Aoyama (age-25)
The writer and mangaka. She's always the level headed one of the group. Constantly planning things out way ahead of time and a complete perfectionist. She is currently working on one her manga’s becoming a television drama. A true intellect and book worm, who rather focus on her writing than date.
Beni Arashiro (age-25)
The Model and aspiring singer. She's a little conceited and has a strong attitude but, she means well. She met Crystal threw the agency when she used to be a model and since then have remained close friends. She's enjoyed being a model but, now wants to focus more on her singing career. Even though she may not show it often, her friends truly mean the world to her.
Jun Hasegawa (age-26)
The Bar and club owner. Even though she owns a club called Illumini, she's not much of a partier herself. Due to the fact that the other girls frequently visited her bar, they eventually became good friends. She's always the one the others run to for advice due to her motherly persona. She's also married.
Ryo Nishikido (age-28)
Crystal's husband and famous professional photographer. He's the all around sweet guy and sort of a stay at home dad. He met Crystal when she was a model for one of his shoots. After a long time chasing her, she finally gave in and agreed to date him. He truly loves her and their daughter Hana.
Hanna Nishikido (age-3)
Crystal and Ryo's daughter. She's very outgoing and very sweet.She loves to read and play with cameras. Crystal says she's more like Ryo than anything.
Yu Shirota (age-27)
Jun's husband and co-owner of Club Illumini. He's more soft spoken and the opposite of Jun. He's always backing up Jun with her advice and see's the other girl's as part of his family. He really wants to be a father but, Jun constantly refuses, saying she's not ready.
Foreword
Club Illumini 6:40p.m.
The lights were low and jazz music filled the slightly packed club. It was still too early for the young crowd, who usually attended once the loud dance music was being played. It was the girl's favorite time to come. It had become a tradition. That no matter how busy their lives became over the years, they would still come to Illumini every Wednesday. To the place that brought them together. Having their usual, discussing each others business, and enjoying some much needed girl time. And today was to be no different.
"It's 6:40. How can those two be this late?" Crystal asked, picking up her phone and slamming back on the table for the third time.
"Things happen Crys and you know those two.” Jun replied drying a glass and placing it on the shelf.
"Yeah well, I have a husband and a kid and I still manage to be here on time". Crystal taking a sip from her martini.
"Yeah, well you also have a husband who makes Mary Poppins look like Cruella". Jun smirked, leaning on the bar.
"Touché, barkeep" Crystal said, taking the tooth pick with an olive on it and pointing at her.
Fifteen minutes later Beni comes strolling in followed by a very happy looking Thelma.
"It's about time. You two better have one hell of an excuse for being so late and not calling" Crystal said sharply, plopping the olive in .
"Well I defiantly do" Beni stated, taking a seat next to Crystal. "Your gorgeous friend Beni is finally going to be a professional singer". She replied in third person.
The girl's all congradgulated her. "Thank you, thank you. You can all now say your friends with a famous singer". She continued, waving her hand in the air.
"Okay, okay, so now that we’ve heard from Madonna. What's your excuse kid" Crystal asked turning her focus on Thelma.
"Well...I also have pretty big news -she started playing with her fingers nervously- do you guys remember the second book I wrote called ‘ROSE’ -once everyone nodded she continued- well TVJ wants to turn it into a real live drama".
"Wow, that’s awesome Thel. Congrats" Crystal said smiling and patting her on the back. The other girls also cheered.
"I can't wait to see it, I really enjoyed that book" Beni said, gaining some confused looks from the others.
"Hey! I can enjoy a good book from time to time" she yelled back.
"Never said you couldn't, I just thought the only books you were into had to have pictures in them" Crystal said laughing.
"Well, I at least always read Thelma's books" Beni said back proudly.
"Okay then, enough of Reading Rainbow. I think all this great news deserves a toast" Jun said, gabbing four shot glasses and filling them up.
"To lives new journey and future successes!" Jun said grabbing her glass and holding it in the air.
The other three girls followed suit, bring their glass up to hers and clanking their glasses together.
"Kampai!"
