White Feathers [Oneshot]
Description
Kibum is always sick, leading him to be hospitalized. He's always been lonely, seeing patients come and go. Being mute mde it harder to make friends. Will it end when he befriends that strange blond boy with large white wings?
Foreword
Kibum looks at the boy lying next to him on the cot. The boy stars back with gleaming gold eyes like his hair and a mischievous smile.
“I’m Jonghyun,” the boy, Jonghyun, introduces himself. “Hello Kibum.”
‘How do you know my name?’ Kibum thinks, rather to himself.
“I’ve watched you. From the room across,” Jonghyun explained, as if he heard him. He points behind Kibum towards the room across the hall.
‘You can hear me?’ Kibum thinks, ‘You watch me? That’s scary, I’ve never seen you.’ But Kibum smiles nonetheless, happy to have company. He's always been the lonely mute boy.
“You just don’t notice me,” Jonghyun pouts. “Hey, Kibum, let’s play a game.”
‘What game?’ Kibum thinks.
“What do you want to play?” Jonghyun asks, getting up from the bed. Kibum sits up and looks on with shocked eyes to see two enormous snow white wings sprouting from the boy’s back.
‘Are those real?’ Kibum asks in his head.
“Yep,” Jonghyun confirms, fluffing them out, then folding them back in. He grins, and his head.
‘Can I touch them?’ Kibum asks.
Jonghyun plops down onto the bad, his back facing Kibum. “Sure!” he chirps.
Kibum reaches out a hand towards the white wings.
“Kibummie!” a voice suddenly calls out from outside Kibum’s room, drawing Kibum’s attention from the other boy. Kibum turns around towards the door just as his mother comes in.
When Kibum turns back, the blond boy is already gone.
