Safety.
That's what I've been trying to have lately. I don't know how long has it been since I felt calm or not worried about my life being at risk.
Actually, not only my life.
I wasn't alone in this uncomfortable madness the world had turned into.
I had her.

"I never saw it coming...", I speak low while the both of us have our eyes closed at the time we hear explosions coming from outside the place we're in.
I hold the door, leaning my back against it after locking it. I sigh heavily. I think I'm sweating.
Are we safe? Is hiding in here a good idea? Are we gonna be found? Can I protect us both?
Those damn questions. They're simple. But they're haunting me like a nightmare.
I hear her voice, coming from another heavy sigh inside that room. I immediately open my eyes to observe her and our surroundings.
She's sitting on a corner with her arms around her knees, and her brown hair is covering her face as she looks down. I see. She needs to take her time. Actually, I do too, so I let out some air from my lungs, in an attempt to relax my muscles and specially my racing heart.
When I'm done exhaling, I look around carefully to see where exactly we entered in such a rush. I see... clothes? A counter too? Oh, so this is a clothing store. Who could've guessed.
I don't hear anything else from outside, I guess the mess was over for now. I slowly move my body away from the door and my eyes wander around me once again. I'm walking carefully not to step on anything weird, because, did I forget to mention? The store was all messy. Things are scattered, but I recognized the clothes and the ''style'' of the building.
Also, it's getting darker. It's the end of the afternoon. Not very exciting, I guess.
The lighting is low but I still can discern some objects and the furniture, along with the colors of the walls. I'm about to explore more of the room when I hear:
"Unnie... come here.. please?"
That startled me a bit, because I thought she was resting, but the girl sitting on the floor was now looking at me with a small smile, waiting for me to join her on the ground.
I return her facial expression with a similar one while I'm heading to sit there.
"Night's coming..." She says, but I don't recognize her tone. Maybe fear, maybe tiredness. I look at her but she's not doing the same, instead she looks at her thighs and knees. She makes what I guess it's a pain face.
