“You can’t escape me.” I looked around me and there was no escape, except if I wanted to jump in the river. He stepped forward and clutched the gun in his hand.

“Where is your sister?” He stepped forward then took my hand. I was breathing faster now. His hands clenched mine. I couldn’t believe that he had changed so much.

“Do it.” I looked behind him and saw his brother. He was laughing at me, wanting to know where she was.

“I’m not going to tell you. You know why.” I breathed. He smiled then held up the gun.

“I’m sorry.” He said. I breathed harder then began to sob.

“Stop crying.” He said.

“I can’t.” I breathed.” He held the gun next to my head and pressed the trigger. My ear rang and I held onto it, still trying to think of way to escape.

“Please, just tell me before I really hurt you.” He whispered. I pushed him then jumped into the cold water beneath us. I began to swim as fast as I could, trying to run away from him.

“Get her!” I heard another splash and Daehyun was now in the water. He looked determined. I swam to shore then hurt a gunshot. It was coming from the pier. I ran into the vegetation but I felt a sharp pain in my leg. I looked down and blood from my leg. I fell to the ground in shock. Daehyun came rushing from the bushes, with the gun in his hand.

“Do it, finish me off.” I screamed. He held up the gun then shot the tree next to him.

“That should do it.” He said before kneeling next to me then getting out his phone.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“I’m calling the ambulance.”

“And the police?” I asked.

“I can’t, he’s my brother.” He said. I grabbed the phone off of him then dialed 911.

“Hello, I’ve been shot.” I whispered. Daehyun looked at my leg in panic.

“Yes, how long are you going to take?” I asked.

“Two minutes, we have a hospital nearby to where you’ve been injured.” I heard. A sense of relief came over me.

“Daehyun, what are you doing?” I saw Daehyun’s brother come through the bushes too, holding a gun.

“Kill her.” He shouted. Daehyun stood up. I looked to my right then saw Daehyun’s gun.

“I can’t kill her, she means too much to me. Kangdae, you understand right?” Kangdae smiled.

“She means nothing to me though.” He lifted up the gun, so did I but I shot before Kangdae. Daehyun thought it came from Kangdae and stood in front of me. I saw as he fell forward. Kangdae looked down then pushed Daehyun on his back with his foot.

“Daehyun!” I screamed. Kangdae was about to shoot when the sirens blared. He immediately thought it was the police. I dragged my body towards Daehyun.

“Daehyun?” I asked. He wasn’t answering me; I sobbed in pain then rested my head on his chest then fell unconscious.

I woke up in the hospital that same day but Daehyun was nowhere to be found. He wasn’t even admitted in the hospital and I immediately thought that he was dead. This happened when I was fifteen. I tried to move on but it wasn’t the same, not without him. But one summer, I saw him. He was sitting on my driveway, waiting for me. I rushed towards him but he held up a gun. He was angry since he thought I left him and he’s thought that ever since.
