When Donghae first applied for the cashier job in Hyukjae’s family’s bakery, the latter wondered just how desperate the brunette was for money.

Maybe it isn’t hiring season: the cold air of November is starting to claim it’s time; maybe the baker’s shop is situated in a geostrategic way: it is about 5 minutes walk from school; maybe the pay isn’t so bad after all... but Hyukjae is still damn sure that Donghae was out of his mind.

“Isn’t my dislike for Donghae pretty evident?” Hyukjae muses, thinking back about his annoyed expression seeing that ball of sunshine in his class, the permanently tension filled (and awkward) atmosphere when he found himself with Donghae (mostly when a teacher decides it would be smart to determine a sitting plan), the occasional, yet not exactly friendly teases and glares... Besides, he considers, the younger is surely aware, as he is also trying hard to avoid him.

And someone with a normal mind wouldn’t throw himself in the fire pit, right? Who would want to work and spend time in such an atmosphere? Donghae in the shop, in his family shop, isn’t he walking right into the lion’s den? Hyukjae grimaces at the thought. Did he just evolve himself from a monkey to a lion?
