The letter fell from his trembling hands and onto the floor. He brought a hand to his mouth trying to hold back a sob. This couldn’t be happening. He couldn’t be dead. It’s a lie, it has to be. The man let his body fall back into his chair, eyes clouded with the tears he was struggling to hold back. 

 

His wife knelt down in front of him placing a steady hand on his knee. “My King?” She tried to look into his eyes but he avoided making eye contact. He didn’t want her to see him cry. Only one person had ever seen him cry and now that person was dead. The woman reached out to grab the letter lying on the floor and read the lone sentence scrawled in the center. “Oh God.”

 

Kim Kibum is dead.
