(The New) Running Man Year Three - Infinite

Description

In the future when the world had had enough of North Korea's threats, South Korea (with almost help from Japan) take matters in their own hands. But when things go terribly wrong, the people of the south are forced to have their entertainment and culture ripped away, and at the expense of the celebrities. Once a year, an idol group is kidnapped and forced to fight to live or die in what used to be SME property. All can survive but all can die. May the odds not be in your favor.

THIS IS OUT OF ORDER. I'm starting with year three (infinite) and will proceed from there. It's for a reason, I promise. Don't be confused~

Inspired by The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and Japanese films Battle Royale and Liar Games.

WARNING: this will be rather violent and have many deaths. However, it isn't fair to limit a person to read it when they may be mature enough to read and still he under 18. You know you're limitations, reader, so please don't read if you're squeamish or anything of the sort.

Foreword

As stated on a program repeated continuously on the New Korean "history" channel. It is one of the very few, finely dictated programs the people can watch anymore on the south side of the fence.

In a time of poor judgement and lack of intellect, a spy that worked for both North Korea and Japan reported to the former that the Japanese was overturning its decree of not using the military for declarations of war in the aid of South Korea invading the North. This had to be stopped for the sake of the world. So the said spy, now highly famed and unnamed here on this program, was instructed to kill the Japanese Prime Minister (and Emperor, if he could).

He succeeded the day before the invasion was planned in both, forcing the Japanese to withdraw their support.

This was supposed to stop the South Korean military from proceeding with the attack, but it did not. They claimed to be doing it for world peace.

Six months of battle, bloodshed, and significant loss resulted in the president being killed, South surrendering and a new, united country forming.

However, nothing goes unpunished. The South was forced to give up luxury and serve the new government in labor and productivity. They were stripped of their entertainments and lifestyle to live a simpler, humbler life.

But the music industry failed to heed the government's requests and continue producing.

Farther punishment for that was to take a precious idol group and keep them in a guarded location for six weeks (one week for each month of battle). Whoever survived could continue their careers. Whoever died wasn't strong enough as it was. They replaced the title of a popular variety show, giving it a new and exciting makeover! The New Running Man. Catchy, right?

There were rumors that SM Entertainment joined forces with the New Government to spare their idols. That is just a rumor.

Retribution must be done to correct past transgressions. It's the only way anyone will learn.

This is a product of the New Korean Public Broadcasting System. Thank you for watching. Have a great day!

Chapter 3: Hi! This is really a great story. I wish you would continue this if you ever go back here in aff. It is really well-written and the some scenes made me cry, especially Sungyeol's. T.T
