After decades of extensive research, a group of scientists calling themselves "Tenyakuryou" finally perfected two things: a vault that strengthened the seals, and the isolation of the essences that gave the six guardian families their power.But they were missing an essential element in keeping that power contained: the descendant of the Tamayorihime, who was the key to keeping the seals together.

In a world where science and technology have reached stages far advanced from the present, the process of finding the Tamayorihime's descendant should have been child's play. But alas, the last of her line died off over fifty years ago. No longer would a natural-born girl possess Tamayorihime's might. Not all was in vain, however, for the head scientist of Tenyakuryou had managed to salvage eggs and DNA samples of the last Tamayorihime. And with those, they began the project to create artificial vessels for the Tamayorihime's power.

They created embryos by the hundreds. But though the cloning technology had been perfected, the concept of blending the spiritual with science was still a concept accepted by few. In the end, only a handful of embryos survived to become infants. And out of that handful that were exposed to the seals on Onikirimaru, only two lived. The two second-in-chiefs took the two girls and raised them as their own.

Almost two decades later, the girls are now adolescents, unaware of their true origins, the power within them, or their true role within the Tenyakuryou. But sooner or later, they're going to find out . . .
