Jerk

A Jerk's Confession

          "How about this one?"

Ami groaned as her bestfriend took another pair of clothes from her closet. She was trying to look for something 'girl' for Ami to wear, which she had a hard time doing since Ami's closet was full of boyish clothes.

"Do I really have to come, Hyeseung?" Ami asked as she sat up on her bed. She pouted at her friend who didn't seem to pay attention to her. Hyeseung put the clothes she was holding on the bed and glared at her friend. She motioned for Ami to stand which Ami obeyed to.

"We already talked about this. You have to." Hyeseung sternly said and held the clothes she took at Ami, checking if it suited her.

"But Barom's gonna be there!" Ami whined as she looked pleadingly at her friend to let her not come. Hyeseung glared at her and Ami quickly shut . She sighed, knowing that she wasn't going to be able to change her friend's mind.

What's up with Ami and Barom? Simple, they hate each other. Ami is Barom's dongsaeng for five years, but a junior for four years since Ami got a year accelerated. They attended the same school, where she was classmates with Barom's friends Ray and Kangjun, as well as Hyeseung. Barom and his friends were popular in their school and Barom, knowing that he was popular, was arrogant and over confident. Ami didn't like Barom's arrogance, and being the kind of girl she was, despite being a junior and a dongsaeng to Barom, she showed it . Whenever they would see each other, they can't help but bicker and throw nasty comments to each other. If it wasn't for Hyeseung's crush on Ray, she wouldn't be in this situation right now. She wouldn't have to spend the day with the guy she hated.

"Here!" Hyeseung excitedly said as she gave the set of clothes to her bestfriend. With no choice, Ami took it and went inside the bathroom. She didn't get why she had to look 'decent'. It wasn't usual for her and whenever she tried to look nice, Barom would just say something bad about her.

"Hey, what's the occasion?" Barom said once he spotted Ami walking along the hallway. She tried to ignore him but her blood boiled when he continued talking, "Why are you wearing a dress? Aren't dresses for girls? I never knew you were a girl. It doesn't suit you, you know. You look like a gorilla in an apron.".

Ami sighed as she remembered. She dressed up for a guy she liked, that time. She planned on confessing to him, but Barom made her conscious about herself and she decided not to confess to the guy. Although she hated Barom, and knew that he would say anything just to mess with her, what he said made an effect on her. She was a girl after all.

Once she finished changing her clothes, she opened the bathroom door and stepped out. Her best friend looked at her with a big smile and went near her.

"I'm such a good stylist! It suits you!" she happily complimented herself, as well as Ami. She dragged Ami in front of a mirror and started experimenting on Ami's clothes, trying to find something that would make it look better.

Ami stared at herself in the mirror and sighed at the foreign person in front of her. Her bangs was shortened just by her eyebrows and the tips of her hair was curled. She wore a casual red sleeveless dress that had a black belt on her waist and went up two inches above her knees, which she once wore on her cousin's wedding. Her face had a bb cream on, which made her skin glow more, and her eyes were lined with a cat line. Her lips were colored light red, and her cheeks became pink without a blush on, as an effect from the bb cream. She wore only a minimal amount of make up, but it was tons for Ami. It was all foreign to her, since she doesn't usually dress up nor put make up on.

"Done!" Hyeseung exclaimed as she finished her 'work'. She smiled at Ami's outfit and turned around to fix the clothes and make up that was scattered on the bed. Ami glanced at her friend before staring at herself in the mirror, again. It really wasn't her. There wasn't a part of what she was wearing that was her.

She sighed and went to her closet before opening a small drawer. She took a black cloth and started wearing it on her legs.

"What are you doing?" Hyeseung asked as she saw her best friend putting on leggings. Ami sighed and looked at Hyeseung pleadingly. She wanted to at least have a part of her outfit 'her'. Hyeseung glared at her for a while before nodding and continuing what she was doing. Ami smiled at her best friend and continued to put the leggings on.

When both of them were finished with what they were doing, they went down the stairs and started to get ready to leave.

"Wallet, cellphone, hanky..." Ami recited to herself as she checked the things inside her bag. She didn't want to forget anything. She wanted to make sure that she was ready, in case anything bad might happen, especially since Barom was coming.

"Here." Hyeseung said as she handed a pair of short boots to Ami. It was black and went up to above her ankles. It didn't have heels which relieved Ami.

"I knew you couldn't walk in heels, so wear this instead." Hyeseung said as made a face. Ami laughed at her and happily took the shoes that Hyeseung was giving her. She quickly wore it and Hyeseung waited for her to finish before she walked out of the house. Ami followed her and they both started to walk to the meeting place. The mall they were meeting at was just near Ami's house. They had no problem with walking, at all.

Once they arrived the mall, they walked to a bookstore near them and waited for the guys to arrive. Ami looked around the bookstore and stopped when a book called 'Lovely Hatred' caught her eyes. She quickly took the book from the shelf and read the introduction. It was a love story about a girl and a boy who hated each other.

"Found a book you like, Ami?" Hyeseung asked when she saw her bestfriend reading a book. Ami glanced at her before handing the book to Hyeseung, trying to convince her bestfriend that she wasn't interested in the book. Somehow, it reminded her of Barom. Whenever she sees stories about a girl and a boy being enemies, it always reminded her of Barom and her. But those stories usually end with the two being a couple, which she thought was impossible to happen with her and Barom. She didn't want Hyeseung to catch her looking at a love-hate book since she would also, just like Ami, think of Barom. She didn't want to be teased about possibly falling for Barom, just like what happened to the main characters of those books.

Ami looked around more, leaving her friend with the book she was checking out a while ago.

"Hey Ami check this out." Hyeseung called Ami's attention. Ami looked at her bestfriend and saw that the book was still in her hand with Hyeseung reading the back part of the book.

"Falling in love isn't feeling a spark when you meet that person. Love has special ways in showing itself, with some being the simplest ways that you won't even notice them, which makes them more special." Hyeseung read and grinned at her friend. Just like on cue, a man's voice suddenly called them.

"Hyeseung! Ami! You guys are early." Both of them looked at the owner of the voice and Hyeseung couldn't help but smile with the sight of Ray while Ami frowned when she saw the guy following Ray.

"Ray just called you a guy" Ami jokingly whispered to Hyeseung. Hyeseung just rolled her eyes and smiled at the two guys walking towards the.

"Ray! Barom! We actually just arrived." Hyeseung said with a big girly smile. Ami stared at her friend and was awed by the unusual girl in front of her. Hyeseung was more bubblier than usual, and she couldn't remove the smile on her face. She must've really like Ray. Her thoughts were cut when Barom noticed her.

"Oh Ami! What's the occasion?" he said teasily as she took a deep breath waiting for him to say something bad about her or her outfit. But what he said startled Ami.

         "You look pretty today."

Did he mean it? I look pretty? Ami thought about what he said for a few seconds and then glared at him. Seeing him with a teasing smile, she knew he was just messing with her, although she couldn't help but blush a little since she rarely gets told she's pretty.

"Shut up Barom!" she said and walked out of the bookstore.

"Aren't you going to buy this?" Hyeseung panicked as she waved the book Ami was looking at a while ago. She hissed when her bestfriend ignored her and quickly returned the book to the bookshelf. She ran out of the bookstore, trying to catch up with her friend, with Barom and Ray following.

"Ya! Wait up!" Hyeseung panted as she caught up with her friend. She hooked her arms with her bestfriend which stopped her from walking.

"You walk really fast." Ray said as he panted. Ami couldn't help but laugh at his statement and at their faces. Both Hyeseung and Ray were panting like they ran a marathon, but Barom didn't. She didn't expect him to get tired though, he was really athletic.

"How are you not tired, Barom?" Hyeseung asked when her breath became normal. Barom smirked at her question and looked intently at Ami, which made Ami a bit uncomfortable, before answering.

"A guy should be stronger than the girl right? You can't really expect a woman to carry a man on the wedding day. The guy should carry the girl." he said. Ami's eyebrows met in confusion with what Barom said. She got what he meant, but It was, somehow, really cheesy. She wasn't really used to seeing Barom like that. She didn't even know that he could say things like that. She was doubting if what he meant was what she was thinking.

"What?" Ami blurted out as she looked at Barom, who looked at her with a teasing smirk. Hyeseung, who was as confused as Ami, was about to speak when Ray suddenly spoke.

"Right! Let's go look around!" Ray exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around Ami and Hyeseung's shoulders, and started walking with Barom following. Although it started with the three of them walking together with Barom following, not long after, Ray and Hyeseung were walking ahead while Barom and Ami trailed behind. It stayed like that for a few hours, with Ray and Hyeseung talking to the two at times, who were walking next to each other in an awkward silence. It was supposed to be a group hang out but, just as Ami thought, it became a date for Hyeseung and Ray. They even went to random clothing stores, which Ami really hated, and Hyeseung would show Ami some clothes and Barom would take the opportunity to say something unusually cheesy.

"Ami! Here I think this would suit you." Hyeseung said as she gave a one armed dress to Ami. Ami looked at it in horror. She really didn't like wearing dresses. Barom's comment didn't help either.

"I think she would look beautiful in it." he said, still with that teasing smirk on his face . Ami groaned and rolled her eyes before returning the dress back to its rack. Ray and Hyeseung both couldn't help but chuckle at Ami and Barom. Whenever Barom would say something 'nice', Ami would just groan or hiss. Ami really couldn't understand Barom, right now. He would say some nice things about her but would have a teasing smile, or smirk. She didn't really understand if he was complimenting her or teasing her. Maybe both.

After hearing their chuckle, Ami suddenly thought of an idea. She looked at Hyeseung with a weak look and held her tummy.

"I'm hungry." she said and pouted. The three of them were shocked at Ami and she couldn't help but smirk in her mind. They were supposed to watch a movie after shopping, but since Ami said she was hungry, they might not get to watch the movie if they take time to eat which they also didn't want since it was the last screening of Ironman.

"But we're going to watch a movie after this. Can't you wait a bit and eat while watching the movie?" Hyeseung asked. Ami pouted before shaking her head and rubbing her stomach.

         "I can't, I'm really hungry." Ami said.

"It's ok! Let's just eat first." Ray suggested which Hyeseung quickly disagreed to and said, "But it's the last screening of ironman! We can't watch it after this". While the two of them were problematic on how they were gonna make things work, Ami was partying in her mind.

"I'm fine in going alone. You guys watch the movie." Ami said and was about to walk away until a hand stopped her.

"I'll come with you" she heard Barom's voice say. She turned around and saw Barom with a panicked expression. Ray on the other hand was worried. Barom really wanted to watch ironman and he heard that ironman was a must watch movie. He didn't want his friend to miss it.

"Are you sure hyung? It's the last screening." Ray asked.

"Yeah. They're gonna release a DVD anyway" Barom quickly said and walked away dragging Ami with him. He kept on walking and walking, still gripping on Ami's wrist, until he felt Ami twist her wrist, trying to remove his grip on her, and let go of her wrist.

"So where do you want to eat?" Barom casually asked. Ami hissed and started massaging her wrists, which hurts from Barom's grip.

"Anywhere" Ami shortly said. They kept on walking in silence as they tried to look for a place to eat at. A certain place suddenly caught Ami' s attention and she couldn't help but feel excited.

"Come on!" she said as she grabbed Barom's arm and ran ahead. Her eyes lit up as soon as they entered the place. Lights lit everywhere and different music filled Ami's ears. Ami couldn't stop a smile from forming on her lips, while Barom couldn't hold in a chuckle when he looked at Ami. They were at an arcade. There weren't a lot of people in the arcade, since it was a school night. They could freely play any game they want without having to wait for their turn so much.

Ami ran to the cashier and was about to grab her wallet from her bag when Barom stopped her.

"Don't even think about of paying" he said. Ami was about to speak until Barom started talking to the cashier and walked away with a card in hand. She sighed and just followed Barom.

"How much credit is in there?" Ami asked as she pointed at the the card. Barom smirked proudly at her before playing with the card in his hands.

"200" he said proudly. It was a lot of credit, they could play more than thirty games, and it really made Ami happy, although she chose not to show it and tapped her chin instead, acting like she's thinking. She stuck her tongue out and said "good enough", before running to a basketball game. Barom chuckled before running to her side. They played tons of games at arcade, just enjoying themselves. Ami even forgot the fact that she was with her enemy. She hasn't even thought about Hyeseung and Ray the whole time.

Barom dragged Ami to a shooting game and scanned the card before pushing Ami to the gun.

"Let's see your skills in shooting shall we?" he said with a teasing smile. Ami looked at Barom with an unsure look before looking back at the game. She was never really good in shooting games. It was one of her weaknesses. She had no idea how to hold a gun properly nor how to aim properly. No one was there to teach her too. She was only going to play because she didn't want Barom to think lowly of her or .

She breathed deeply and held the gun, just like how she sees on movies, as the game started. She tried her best and shoot the enemies but she would always miss. In less than two minutes, it was game over. She sighed and brought the gun down, unable to look at Barom. She glared at the game and stood still on her spot, waiting for Barom to or something, but what Barom did surprised her.

"Here," he said. Barom's hand came out from behind Ami and scanned the card on the scanner in front of her. The game showed that it accepted the card and Barom quickly took the card away from the scanner. He took the gun and placed it properly on Ami's arms. The game started and Barom guided Ami in shooting, his hands on top of hers and his lips beside her ears, whispering what she had to do at times. Ami couldn't help but smile as she shot the enemies with Barom's help. She always wanted to learn how to shoot, and she was really irritated that she couldn't shoot even a single enemy alone.

The game ended and the game showed a good record. They stood still and Ami couldn't help but laugh. Barom laughed with her and she felt his breath on her ear. It was then that she realized that they were really close to each other. She looked at Barom and couldn't help but stare as he chuckled. It was her first time seeing him really laugh and not teasingly laugh. Barom looked at her, their nose touching. She couldn't help but freeze in her spot. They were dangerously close and Ami had no idea what to do. Barom's hands were tightly gripping on Ami's hand which made it harder for Ami to do anything.

Barom's started to go closer and Ami only stared at him. They stared into each others eyes as their lips lightly touched. After a few seconds, Ami realized what was happening. She removed Barom's grip on her hands and she pushed him away from her, making their lips separate. She placed the gun back to its place and walked away from Barom. She went out the arcade and just continued walking, with Barom following her. Barom called her a few times, but she ignored him and continued walking.

They arrived at a deserted part of the mall. Barom sighed and grabbed Ami's arm stopping her from walking.

         "Hey"

"What's wrong with you?" Ami turned around and angrily asked. She stared at Barom and rolled her eyes when she saw a smile form on his lips.

"What do you mean?" he asked, again with that teasing smirk. Ami hissed and turned around, walking away from Barom.

"Hey!" Barom called and walked to Ami. He wrapped his arms around Ami, back hugging her, when he finally caught up to her. He heard her loudly groan in annoyance and he couldn't help but smile. She remove Barom's arms away from her and turned around.

"This is what's wrong with you! You're acting weird!" Ami said and glared at Barom. "Are you sick?" she asked as she placed a hand on his forehead. Barom only chuckled which made Ami's blood boil. He went near Ami and wrapped his arms around her waist and placed his forehead on hers. Ami's eyes grew bigger and she couldn't help but blush.

"There's nothing wrong with me." he said and stared at Ami's eyes. She hissed and slapped Barom's head before turning around. She was about to walk away until Barom pulled her closer and wrapped his arms on her waist tighter. He placed his head on her shoulder and started swaying her left and right. Ami squealed and slapped Barom's hands, trying to remove his grip.

"Leave me alone! What the hell do you want?!" she yelled and tried to pry off his arms. She heard him chuckle which made her more irritated.

"If I told you, would you give it to me?" he asked. Ami imagined him saying that with a smirk planted on his face. Oh how she wanted to just punch him. But no, she couldn't. Although they were at a deserted part of the mall, they were still at a public place. She might get in trouble if someone saw.

"Whatever! If it would make you leave me alone!" she said with an exasperated sigh. She stopped moving and felt Barom's face coming closer to her. She felt his breath on her ears and goosebumps appeared on her skin. She didn't know why she was feeling that way. She was really surprised on how she was feeling, but what Barom said surprised her the most.

"You" he whispered. Ami froze on her spot. Her mind froze, her body froze, everything froze. Somehow, time froze for her. She couldn't believe what was happening, nor could she believe the butterflies on her stomach. She didn't really think that those stories about enemies falling in love could come true, more or less to her. She didn't really think that the jerk Barom really could like her, nor that she could like him. Her mind denied that she lied him but her whole body thought differently. It was then when she suddenly imagined Barom with a smirk on his face. Her blood boiled and she took all her strength and removed Barom's hold on her.

"Why do you like teasing me?" she asked, exasperated. Tears were forming on her eyes from the anger she was feeling. She couldn't understand what was happening nor how she was feeling. She started walking away but a hand turned her around. The next thing she knew a heavy weight was on her lips and a pair of hands was holding the sides of her face. Barom was kissing her. Again, the nth time for the day, she froze. Her heart was beating really fast and nothing was syncing in her head. She was clueless to what was happening.

Barom broke his kiss and leaned his forehead on hers.

"I like you. I'm not teasing." he said with a sincere smile. Ami just stared at him and he couldn't help but chuckle.

"Don't believe me?" he asked which she replied with the same stare. Barom chuckled and connected his lips, again, with hers. This time, Ami woke up from her trance and closed her eyes, returning the kiss a little. Barom broke away and, again, leaned his forehead on hers. He stared at her eyes and chuckled.

"Believe me now?" he asked. Ami stared at him and kept quiet while breathing heavily. Barom smiled and rolled his eyes before kissing her again. He guided her arms around his neck and he pulled her closer to him, his hand wrapped on her waist. Ami kissed back, with her eyes closed, and Barom couldn't help but smile. Barom broke away again and looked at Ami.

"So what do you say?" he asked. Ami stayed in the same positioned and looked away from Barom. She was contemplating on whether she liked him. He was her enemy after all. Barom heavily sighed as Ami stayed quiet. He placed his lips on top of her and smirked. He bit her lip and he laughed when her eyes grew bigger.

"Ah! Yoo Barom, that hurts!" Ami pushed Barom away and yelled. Barom laughed and started walking away, leaving Ami who was holding her lips in pain.

"Ya! Yoo Barom!" Ami yelled and ran to catch up with him. When she caught up with him, she jumped and wrapped an arm on his neck, strangling him.

"That really hurts Yoo Barom!" she scolded and continued to strangle him. Barom, who didn't really feel like he was being strangled, laughed at Ami. He grabbed Ami's arms and remove her tight grip, and instead wrapped both of her arms on his neck before moving his face closer to hers.

"Stop. I don't want to be killed by my girlfriend that fast." he said and smirked when he saw Ami blush at the word 'girlfriend'. Ami bit her lip and looked away, embarrassed at everything that happened. She was about to put her arms down when Barom pulled her closer and started kissing her again. She kissed back and she couldn't help but smile back. Her heart was beating fast and she could feel Barom's heart also beating fast. Somehow, she was happy at what was happening.

Barom broke the kiss and Ami rolled her eyes when she saw the same smirk on Barom's face.

"Call me oppa from now on." he ordered. Ami glared at him and shoved his face away before muttering "jerk". Barom chuckled and followed Ami who was already walking away. He placed a hand on Ami's waist which earned a glare from her. Barom pecked her lips and she couldn't help but smile.

"How's that for a confession?" Barom cockily asked as they walked to the theatre to meet back up with Hyeseung and Ray. Ami rolled her eyes before, again, muttering.

         "jerk."
