Jonghyun stepped awkwardly inside a private room of a wine bar where the so called KyuLine used to hang out. It was half past ten, three weeks after the kiss incident when Jonghyun received a text message from Kyuhyun. His heart sank at the possibility of losing whatever relationship with Kyuhyun, but it was a consequence he had to face to make sure Kyuhyun got what he deserved.

They agreed to meet at midnight, and there Jonghyun was, five minutes before midnight, standing at the door to their usual room, taking deep breaths before finally stepping inside.

"Ah, Jonghyun-ah. You're here!" Kyuhyun called out, his face tired but happy.

"Oh, hyung... Have you been here long?" Jonghyun asked awkwardly, not knowing whether to hug Kyuhyun like he usually did whenever they met, or to offer him a handshake, or to just sit down. But at least Kyuhyun was smiling at him, he should be thankful just to be able to see that smile again.

"So," Kyuhyun started, "Siwon told me you guys had a talk."

Jonghyun nodded.

"He's not a bad guy, you know." Kyuhyun said again, "He's just.... Stupid sometimes."

Jonghyun chuckled, "Yeah, I know."

"But don't ever try anything like that again." Kyuhyun threatened playfully, "He wasn't a Taekwondo champion for nothing."

And Jonghyun had to laugh this time, "I've seen first hand how strong angry Siwon is."

So Kyuhyun laughed along

"But thank you for standing up for me." he said sincerely.

"Nevermind, hyung. It's my obligation as a member of KyuLine. I think I read it in the contract when you recruited me in."

"Oh shut up. You've grown up to be quite troublesome, haven't you?" Kyuhyun snickered.

"I learned from the best." Jonghyun said smugly, and Kyuhyun slapped his arm.

"So we're good?" Kyuhyun asked.

Jonghyun nodded eagerly, "Can I still hug you?"

Kyuhyun slapped Jonghyun once more but then pulled the younger man into a hug. Jonghyun quickly circled his arms around Kyuhyun's body and enjoyed the calming scent Kyuhyun always emitted. He was happy enough to be the bestfriend if it meant seeing Kyuhyun's sincere smile everyday.
