Narrator’s P.O.V:
Weeks passed and before you knew it, the day you dreaded had finally come. February 14th… also known as the infamous Valentine’s Day. You didn’t hate the day, it was just that it got annoying at times, with the pink and red hearts and all.
Lucky for you, this year, Valentine’s Day was on a Saturday. You were relieved that you didn’t have to see couples smooching it up at school. When you woke up early that morning, your mom was the only one home. She was cutting blocks of chocolate.
“Mmm… ‘Morning, mom. Where’s Oppas?” You yawned as you took a seat in the kitchen. “Goodness, dear. You’ve gotten pretty close to them, haven’t you? Anyways, they went out shopping for groceries. They insisted that they would do it. Such sweet boys.” She cooed and went back to cutting.
You rolled your eyes but grinned. “Are you making the yearly chocolates again?” You questioned. Every year, your mom would make special chocolates for you and her, but this time, for the whole family. You grabbed a chunk of chocolate and placed it in your mouth. “Yum, chocolate for breakfast.”
“Yes, and that’s not healthy, dear. Go make some eggs or eat cereal or something.” Your mom said without looking up from the cutting board. You pouted, “’Kay.”
