I Regretted Leaving You

I looked back at my watch, it was 5 minutes to 3. Why had I come earlier than scheduled? I had been sitting in the cafe for over 10
minutes. Did I think that this guy would be here earlier wiating for me? God, I didn't know what I was thinking. I took another sip of the
green tea latte I ordered and looked back at my watch. At that instant, I heard the doorbell and I looked up. A man in his earlier 30s had opened
the door. He walked in and glanced aroundthe room. My eyes widened and I ducked down trying to hide from him. Was this the guy my mom
had set me up with? Was she insane? "Ee ge boya?" I muttered under my breath. I looked up from the table and saw that the man had met
his eyes with mine. Crap! I ducked down again and moved the latte in front of me hoping he wouldn't see me. I heard his footsteps walk towards
me and my eyes closed praying that he wouldn't sit in the empty seat in front of me. Just when I thought that all doom had come upon me,
his steps walked pass me and headed into a differenct direction. I slowly looked up again from the table and saw that the man had walked up
to a woman and sat down next to her a couple of tables away from where I was. I sighed a sign of relief and sat back up again. Good grief. I
thought I was doomed for sure. I took a napkin that was placed next to my latte. Apparently, I had been sweating due to all the excitement
that had just happened. I put the napkin down and took another sip from my latte. I heard the dorbell again and saw that another man had
just walked in. A very good looking man I should say. He walked up to a table that was in front of me and sat down. He opened the menu and
started reading it. I tried not to look at him but I couldn't help it. His face was round with dark brown hair on top, along with dark brown eyes as
well.  He had such a cute expression on his face, I restrained myself wanting to go up and pinch his cheeks. I kept looking and admiring his looks
that, when I got to his eyes, he was looking back at me. I quickly looked away and I put my hand up in front of me so he couldn't see my blushing. I
took another sip of my latte but I ended up coughing it out. I wiped my face with the napkin but then I realized I had used it to wipe my forhead
earlier. Blech. I wiped my mouth with my sleeve and faced my head down the table. I peeked out with my arm covering my face and saw that the
man was chuckling to himself. I put my head back down and scrunched up my face. Did he really just see all of that? Omo. So embarrassing. I
glanced back at my watch. It was 10 minutes pass 3. Where was my date? Had he ditched me? Great. Omma would be overjoyed. I sighed and
peeked back out at the man and saw that a waitress had placed a cup on his table.
"A green tea latte sir?" I heard the waitress say.
The man looked up and nodded his head. "Ne. Kamsamnida." He toop a sip from his latte and took out his phone and started looking through it.
That accent of his was something. Had he been overseas? It was definitely a mix.  Hmmm. I studied him some more, trying to recognize some
more aspects of him. He was Korean for sure. Maybe his accent changed a bit after going overseas, or wherever he came from. Yeah, that was
probably it. I took another sip from my latte and rememebered that I was also drinking a green tea one. Coincidence? I would like to think not. Well,
at least we had something in common. I looked back at my watch, it was 3:20. Yup. He ditched me. My date ditched me. Great. I rolled my eyes and
looked back at the man. He was still looking through his phone. I squinted my eyes at him. Something about this guy was vaguely familiar but
I just couldn't find what it was. Chamkaman...the accent, the green tea, the looks; no...it couldn't be. I whispered something without even realizing
it. The man looked up from his phone and our eyes met. No way...it couldn't be...
"Oppa?"
