Darling, I'd Wait Forever Just For You.

Description

Sagong Ae Sook is determined to win her child hood best friend, Park Hyung Seok, back.

Even if it means following him everywhere he goes without him knowing.

She's determined to stop admiring him from fae away, and approach him.

To let him know that she's been with him all along just as she's promised when she was five years old.

To let him know that she loves him.

But, when she finds out something unexpected, and everything changes, Ae Sook learns that maybe sometimes it's better to just let go.

Foreword

I walked across the side of the road, holding my arm out as I held up my thumb. It was pouring rain, and all I had was a small hoodie, jeans, torn up shoes, and a small bag. My eyes were squinted as small droplets of water trickled down my face, and I shook my head, sending water flying everywhere. A small, green car rolled up my side, and the window rolled down. I peeked in to see an old couple sitting in the front seat as the small woman stuck her head out.

"You need a lift, hun?" She asked, and I only nodded. My teeth were chattering so much I couldn't speak. She nodded her head, signaling for me to get in.

I slid into the backseat of the car, and rubbed my arms with my hands, trying anything to get warmth. The ride was silent for a while as the man stared ahead, and the woman rested her head on the window of her car. She seemed to be asleep, and I looked out the window. The scene flied by as we drove by, and the old man finally cleared his throat.

"What's your name?" He asked, and I looked down at my hands.

"Ae Sook." I said in a barely audible voice.

He nodded slowly. "Where are you headed, Ae Sook?"

"Seoul, sir." I replied, nodding my head once.

"Seoul?" He asked in a quiet voice, and shook his head. "Why Seoul?"

"I'm meeting someone."

"Someone?"

"Ne." I replied, and puffed out my cheeks.

"A special someone?"

"Yes," I quickly said, and then let out a sigh, "well, he's special to me."

"What do you mean by that?" The man asked, looking back at me.

"He doesn't remember me. Well, at least, I don't think he does. But, I do remember him. We were best friends when we were child hood friends, and he moved away. I managed to find him on the internet since he's become a famous model, and I went over to Busan to find him. When I saw him, I was too afraid to approach him, and I just kind of..." I trailed off for a while, and cleared my throat before continuing, "I just sort of admired him from afar."

"Afar?" The man asked, slightly chuckling. "Why not approach him?"

"I tried to." I said, pouting. "But, I grew so nervous. My throat closed up, and I couldn't breathe. I chickened out."

The man nodded, letting out a thoughtful sigh. The air was silent for a while until he let out another soft chuckle.

"The things you do for love, huh?"

I smiled nervously, my stomach churning at the word. "Tell me about it." I mumbled, and he nodded.

"Get some rest." He suddenly said. "You seem tired."

I nodded, resting my head on the seat, and sunk into it. Closing my eyes, I let out a deep breath. The things I did for love were crazy, but I just wanted him to remember me. It wouldn't even matter if he said he didn't want me in his life. As long as he knew I existed. As long as I was a precious memory.
