There's something about children's stories that keep us, adults, awed. It's not the childishness; not the easy-to-read sentence structures either.
It is that ONE element - the simplicity - present in these stories. When life forces us to forget what we once cherished, our mind begins to think in complex. All the simplicity we once knew is pushed away.
We begin to question, to wonder, to doubt....
Our love seems inadequate;
Our friendship seems weak;
Our career seems unstable;
Our family seems separated;
Everything is blurry and complex...

Exerpt from the story...
The night was darker than any other nights. The lights on the street were dimmer, as though the electricity was limited. The sky was taken over by clouds, almost warning residents of possible thunder and rain. Donghae stood still, his mind blank, his heart frozen. He was absorbed in his thinking, drowning in a pool of endless thoughts. His quarrel with Eunhyuk, a few hours prior, played in his mind like a movie.
In the cold weather, only his silent sobs were heard. He attempted to word his thoughts: was it worth it?
