Forever

Forever

We said it would be forever.

Everything around us screamed the word, from the pictures we took together, to the matching rings on our fingers.

Our forever was manifested in a child, a life from both of us, someone we created together.

But even after everything we did together, why did our love not last forever?

I didn't realize as we had our last argument.

I didn't realize as we sat in court.

I still didn't realize when we signed our divorce papers our last day together.

Not until that first night apart, laying in my own bed, looking up at the ceiling without you by my side, did I realize.

Weren't our love and promises to each other, supposed to last forever?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Random drabble reflecting on the number of people getting divorced in recent years. I really wish love between people lasted forever.
Chapter 1: Ah, this is rather interesting since it is simple short and sweet in a sense. I mean, you probably get what I mean.
Can I come up with a suggestion though? I don't mean to find faults, but your first sentence sounds a little odd.
The sentence (We said it would be for forever.) seems to sound better - in my opinion, you don't need to take it seriously if you don't want to - if it is rephrased as (We said it would last forever.) or (We promised to define forever.).
OTL, anyways aside from my suggestion, this was a decent read. ^^/ Have a nice day!
