Lie - CNBLUE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7Pd7N5RSDM     ---------------------- Narrator’s P.O.V:     Miyoung’s brown orbs quickly flickered from one side of the classy restaurant to the other.  The dim, sultry lighting and soft jazz music playing in the background made her slightly less nervous.   All her lingering questions and confusions about L. Joe were the last of her worries now.   To be honest, the only person Miyoung expected to throw a temper tantrum at her issue was Yonghwa. She knew how much of a baby he could be sometimes, and she didn’t want to deal with it, as much as she loved him.   Miyoung allowed herself to take one last glance at the door.   *Can’t I just leave?* She whimpered to herself.   ‘No.’ Her heart prevented her from going. ‘You came all this way to speak the truth to them. They deserve to know. They’re two of the most important people to you. Don’t be a wimp, Miyoung.’   She took snuck a peek at the blond beside her. *You’re doing this for him, after all.*   While Miyoung wrestled with her thoughts, a very intrigued Byunghun curiously scanned the tables. His eyes lit up when he caught sight of a familiar face. No other guests seemed to be present in the restaurant except them.   “Hyung!” he waved.   “Hey, over here!” Jonghyun stood up and waved them over with a welcoming smile.   L. Joe took a step forward when a hand shot out and grabbed his arm. The blond blinked and turned to Miyoung, who looked slightly tense. Byunghun gently nudged her back, “C’mon, what are you waiting for?”   “Wait!” she blurted out, eyes flitting up to his inquisitive expression. Byunghun waited there patiently until Miyoung was able to recollect herself and continue with a sigh, “…When you see Yonghwa oppa’s fiancée, try not to ogle at her too much. It’s an easy way to get on his bad side. Permanently.” *And mine, too.*   “I—“ Before he could finish, Miyoung had already grabbed a hold of his arm and was dragging him off to their reserved table.   “You made it,” Jonghyun gave his little sister a hug, showing off his dimples. Miyoung patted his back and grinned, “Of course I did. And I brought your #1 fan too, as you requested.” Miyoung whispered the second part quietly. Jonghyun flicked her forehead as punishment and moved on to greeting L. Joe.   “Took you two long enough,” a grumpy voice mumbled.   Miyoung grimaced and rubbed her forehead, staring straight at her biggest brother. “What died in your pants today?”   Instead of the usual pout and protests of ‘Mimi!’, Yonghwa just glared daggers at L. Joe, who smiled pleasantly back at him. “What’s he doing here?”   Jonghyun’s shot Miyoung a bewildered look, “They know each other?”   “Hello, Yonghwa hyungnim,” Byunghun greeted politely, as Miyoung instructed him to do.   Yonghwa crossed his arms and shot him a pointed look, “I’m not your hyungnim!”   Miyoung raised an eyebrow. *What’s up with him?* L. Joe looked indifferent, but Miyoung could tell that he was a bit disheartened. She was about to pat his shoulder when a voice firmly spoke up, “Oppa, be nice and stop being so childish.”   Both Byunghun and Miyoung looked up. The android studied the female in front of him, whose long and straight chestnut-brown hair cascaded past her elbows in waves. It framed her sweet, cherubic face.   “Seohyun-ah!” Miyoung brightened.   Upon hearing the familiar voice calling her name, the corners of Seohyun’s glossy lips hitched up into a wide smile, “Miyoung, long time no see!”     Then, she did something that seemed sort of strange in Byunghun’s eyes. Miyoung leaned her head in, just as Seohyun reached her hand out. Seohyun’s long fingers traced over her nose, forehead and cheeks until she lightly patted the side of her face. Miyoung warmly smiled as she did so.   Jonghyun cleared his throat, trying to clear up any confusion, “Byunghun, this is Seohyun, Yonghwa hyung’s fiancée.”   L. Joe quietly studied her. *So this is his fiancée.*   “Hello,” The woman named Seohyun kindly said, smile never leaving her lips, “It is a pleasure to meet you, Byunghun-sshi, am I right? I’ve heard a lot about you.” She held out her hand.   Miyoung pulled back and subtly eyed Byunghun, slightly anxious for his reaction. *C’mon, L. Joe. Don’t make a stupid mistake now. Remember my words.*   At that moment, L. Joe’s eyes flickered from Seohyun’s eyes to her hand. *I see. She cannot see me. Her eyes are unfocused, and are looking elsewhere.* He parted his lips to reply.   “Yes, you’re correct. It’s a pleasure to meet you, as well.” L. Joe replied courteously and did something that momentarily surprised all three of the others. He had leaned his head forward, just as Miyoung had done.   “Oh,” Seohyun felt his presence and blinked before letting out a tinkling laugh, “I meant for a handshake, actually.”   Byunghun smiled, well-aware that Seohyun couldn’t see it, “Yes, but then you wouldn’t know what I looked like, am I right? Personally, I think it’d be odd to shake hands with a stranger.” He continued, “If you prefer, I don’t mind a handshake either, though.”   Seohyun paused for a bit before breaking into a warm smile, “I can already tell you are a perceptive friend. You are right—it is uncomfortable to shake the hands of a stranger.”   And with that, she raised her hand to his face and smoothed over his facial features. It tickled (L. Joe tried very, very hard not to laugh), but it was quickly over.   Pulling her hand back, Seohyun continued to smile, “Just as I thought, you are handsome and kind-hearted.”   “Seohyun!” Yonghwa looked appalled. Miyoung and Jonghyun looked half-surprised, half-amused.   “Thank you—wait—you can tell people’s personalities, too?!” Byunghun’s eyes rounded, “Your eyes must hold magic in them!”   Seohyun looked surprised, but if she was offended, she didn’t show it at all. Instead, she laughed again, “What a funny friend you are! Now I understand why Miyoung never contacted me for a while. She was busy because she wanted your company all for herself.”   Miyoung’s eyes widened as she grew flabbergasted, “S-Seo, don’t sprout nonsense.”   “Really, Miyoung? You wanted to keep me all to yourself?” Byunghun’s eyes naively twinkled. Miyoung shoved his head aside with two fingers and sat down in her chair, “In your dreams, buddy.”   Yonghwa seemed slightly pleased (albeit his bad mood) as Seohyun giggled. Byunghun frowned and slunk in his seat as well.   “Please excuse Yonghwa oppa’s rude behaviour,” Seohyun patted her future husband’s cheek as his small smirk dropped, “He’s just hungry. Once he heard that you two were coming, he got so excited that he refused to eat anything else in order to save up room in his stomach.”   Miyoung and Jonghyun shared a look and chortled, “Idiot.”   “Yah!” Yonghwa harrumphed.   “For once, I agree with them.” Seohyun chided. Yonghwa grimaced and glanced up, spotting L. Joe lightly grinning along. He furrowed his eyebrows and was about to shoot a retort, but Seohyun sensed it and slipped her hand over his, giving it a small squeeze.   Gradually, his grouchiness dissipated, “…Alright, alright.” He softened a bit at Byunghun, “…I apologize for being rude. Welcome.”   When Byunghun’s eyes twinkled like a little kid on Christmas, Miyoung let out a subtle, helpless smile.   “That’s my line,” Jonghyun teased, taking his rightful seat, “In any case, welcome. You guys must be hungry, huh? We can start off with some appetizers, but you can all choose your main courses.”   Miyoung’s stomach growled as she flipped open the menu in front of her. *Great, I’m starving.* But before she could pick and choose, a hand shot out and closed it. Miyoung raised an eyebrow at Jonghyun, who eyed her from under his black bangs, “Except for you, Miyoung. I’ll choose your main course.”   “Wha—“ She gawked, “Oppa!”   But Jonghyun didn’t want to hear it, “Nope. I can already see it. You’ve been eating ramen late in the night again. Your cheeks are all bloated.”   Self-consciously, she touched her face. Jonghyun shot her an ‘I-told-you-so’ look and thought hard, “You’ll be having the tomato and vegetable pasta with a side garden salad. No Caesar dressing.”   Miyoung deflated and let out a sigh, silently allowing it.   Yonghwa snickered, “You’re 20 years old and you still need someone to choose your meal for you? Lookit the little baby~”   “You too, Yonghwa oppa,” Seohyun interjected, “You’ll be getting the same thing Miyoung is. It’s hearty and healthy, and you’ve been eating too much red meat lately.”   Yonghwa’s eyes went wide with panic, “S-Seohyun-ah, no! I want the chicken parmesan with a side of mashed potatoes!” Seohyun, however, was as stubborn as Jonghyun was—if not more.   Meanwhile, Byunghun spotted Miyoung’s pouty look. *Jeez, Jonghyun. At least give me a Caesar salad with the veggie mush.*   He reached out and tapped her on the should
