Never Leave Your Son With A Mad Hatter

The Chronicles Of A Pirate And Two Lost Boys

Mrs. Kim walked up the gravel driveway amazed by how huge the house was. When that afternoon his son, Eli had ran to her happily asking if he could go to his new friends house she never imagined his friend would be this rich. Maybe the stravagant old man who came to pick them up, supposedly Kevin's grandfather, should have gave her a hint. He was dressed quite extravangtly, a weird colourful long jacket, a big hat and a walking stick. All his clothes looked quite expensive and old, but she should've guessed by the walking stick. Only really rich people have such accessories, so elegant and beautiful in it's black mahogany body and silver chiselled head. Or the way he spoke, with that strange accent and composed attitude. But it's hard to imagine someone would be this rich. She pushed the golden ringbell admiring how even the front door looked expensive. The door opened after quite a long time, just as she was about to ring a second time.

Mrs. Kim smiled politely at the butler who only gazed at her disinterested with empty eyes "The living room is th-" he started saying gesturing at his right but was interrupted by a loud crash and some yells coming from inside the huge house. Mrs. Kim furrowed her eyesbrows worriedly allarmed by the loud noises while the butler just sighed deeply shaking his head and muttered something inaudible "Living room is that way" he repeated and walked off frowning, more noises and screams accompaning his exit. "YOU CAN'T ESCAPE THE PIRATE'S FURY!!!" A voice with a thick italian accent was heard, Mrs. Kim raising her eyebrows perplexed and surprised as two little boys she reconised to be Eli and his new friend ran past her, screaming and laughing as an old lady dressed in an old shirt and baggy pants with what looked like a pair of striped stockings dangling messily from her head chased after them, a wooden spoon being her menacing weapon.

Mrs. Kim stood there dumbfounded, unsure of what she had just witnessed, eyebrows raised.

Had she just seen an old lady with stockings, red and white striped freakingstockings, on her head chasing his son with a spoon?

She shook her head in disbelief and followed the noise of mobilia screeching on the floor and laughter. She finally entered the living room, finding it had proved to be much more difficult than she had expected, that house was an endless maze of corridors and rooms; in time to see the children disappearing behind another door laughing loudly. "Oi yoi yoi yoi yoi la mia schiena (my back) oi yoi yoi" Mrs. Kim turned to see the old woman slightly bended, a hand on her back. She cleared a bit awkwardly, getting her attention "Oh, you must be Eli's mother!" she exclaimed, big brown eyes shining – or should she say eye, since the stocking had slipped over her face hiding her left eye together with almost half of her face – strands of wild gray hair shooting in different directions under the stocking. She then bowed elegantly, stretching a non-existent gown "Halmoniii this is not the way you're supposed to do ittt, pirates don't bowww" a little boy, presumably Kevin, complained. She wasn't one hundred percent sure it was him, since he was covered in paint and had what she really hoped were clean, boxers on his head.

"Aarghh how dare you speak like this to me, the terrible pirate of the Dragon ship!" the old woman replied starting to chase the squealing boys again "You Hat stealer come here! I shall get revenge for your terrible crime!!!" she yelled at Eli, who was wearing an old floppy bright yellow garden hat with feathers and plastic flowers on it and a pair of big white sunglasses in perfect '60s style. "You'll never catch me!!!" he screamed jumping on the couch.

He grabbed a few pillows and started throwing them at her "Get this you evil pirate!" "Noo" she screamed bringing her hand to her chest and fake collapsed on the thick white carpet.

"AAATTAACKKK! GET HER!" Kevin screamed as both of them jumped on her trying to tie her with a blanket "KYOUNGJAE!" Mrs. Kim exclaimed feeling embarassed by her son's behavior. Eli merely looked up too busy trying to immobilize "the evil pirate".

"Argh you little demons have defeated me!" the old woman exclaimed from the floor, both boys smiling triumphantly.

"Hey Kevin..." Eli said worriedly noticing the now heavily panting boy, eyes dilatating as he realized something "You've lost your antidote!" he picked up the inhaler "Quick, before you become a goblin!" he handed it to him, Kevin breathing deeply through it.

Mrs. Kim rushed to the woman's side trying to help her up "I'm really sorry for my son's behavior..." "Ah don't worry" she squatted her hands away "It takes much more than that to bring me down" she said cheerfuly fixing her clothes.

"I'm sorry for the mess" she apologised gesturing around the room, cushions and chairs spread all over the pavement "Our butler is a bit dumb" she smiled apogetically, acting like Mrs. Kim hadn't just seen her throw around the objects with the kids. "SEBASTIAN! Come here you useless creature!" she screamed. The butler walked in the room stiffly, an annoyed frown contracting his features "You called me?" "Yes! Look at the mess! Clean up will you?" the butler nodded and started to pick up the various objects strewn around the room. "Can't even keep the room tidy for the guests..." she muttered to herself shaking her head. Mrs. Kim stared at her, eyebrows slightly raised, not believing what she was seeing. The woman didn't even talk to him in a mean way, she just treated him like he was a naughty child, completely forgetting it had been her to make the mess and that she was still dressed in that ridicolous "pirate" outfit of hers.

She turned towards Mrs. Kim then "Oh how rude of me, I haven't even introduced myself! I'm Natalina" She bowed gracefuly.

"Oh, the kids have disappeared again..." she said looking around "They have gone to the young master's room" the butler said from the pavement "Oh thank you!" she grabbed Mrs. Kim's hand "Let's go!" she exclaimed starting to run "Wait!"

After being dragged through endless corridors and satirs for what felt like hours, they reached a white door with paint and stickers all over it. Mrs. Kim stopped, panting heavily, wondering how in the holy heck that woman managed the whole day like this. She was exausted and felt like her head was going to explode and she'd been there for not even twenty minutes!

"H... How... do you... manage... this?" she asked panting. Natalina smiled "By sniffing coke" she said cheerfully making her eyes widen comically, eyebrows shooting up to her hairline, but before she could react or even decide if the woman was serious or just making some weird joke, she had already turned towards the door.

"Knock, knock!" Natalina said knocking on the door twice. They heard some muffled noises, some whispering and a chair being knocked down "I'm coming iiinnn" she said slamming the door open "Oh ma guarda, non c'è nessuno! (Oh look! Nobody's here!)" she looked around "I wonder where they are..." some whispers and giggles were heard from the wardrobe. Natalina grinned triumphantly opening the closet's door, the two little boys falling out on the floor, Eli laying on top of Kevin.

"Now stop Kyoungjae, we have to go home" Mrs. Kim said sternly. Eli pouted "Can't I stay a little longer? Pretty pleasee?" he said from under the obnoxious hat, still on top of Kevin. "Yes, just a little more?" Kevin pleaded "We haven't had tea yet" Natalina added. She shook her head "Maybe another time, now it's time to go" they all three pouted under her incredoulous gaze. That woman cartainly was something...

"Com'on Jae, give back the hat" Eli pouted even further gripping the sides of the hat with his small hands, pulling it it further down his face. "Nooo" She sighed deeply, massagging her temples "Stop making a fuss, we have to go home" "I don't want tooo, Kevin's house is prettier" he whined. Kevin giggled "I want to see your house too!" Eli brightened peeking from under the hat "Can he come home with us mom?" "No Jae" "Ow" he poued again, pulling down the hat to cover his face. "Com'on Eli do as your mother says" Natalina told him, that being the first mature thing she had sa- "Or you'll turn into a troll!" she ended making a ,supposedly, monster face. ... forget it...

Eli jumped up "Noo! I don't want to be a troll!" he took the hat off hastily. Maybe she should start making those kind of threats as well, Mrs. Kim thought to herself. They seemed to work pretty awesomly.- That was not the case, not for her anyway, she later found out as she was trying to make Eli brush his teeth. He only stared back at her superiorly, /like she was really dumb./ "Minotaurs don't exist mom". She wondered why she even tried with her son anymore.-

Kevin stood up aswell with a sad face "I don't have a cure against trollism..." Eli saddened "Looks like you'll have to go home then" Natalina said gently, surprising her, she had expected her to say something weird or more childish. It was a surprise she even helped her instead of just pouting and pleading like the kids.

Eli crossed his arms on his chest, huffing. "Fine" he said sulking. "Where's your jacket?" "I don't know" he turned towards Natalina, who only stared back at them blankly "Jacket?" Mrs. Kim nodded "You had a jacket?" "Yes" "Oh... SEBASTIAN!!"
