Foreword

"AAAAAHHHHHH. HEEEEELPPPP!"

A 12 year old Minho screamed. He had come home from school and took a nap and was awoken by the smell of smoke and heat. The angry red and orange flames were flooding the floor of Minho's room, trapping the child on his bed. His room had no window and the fire was moving in quickly towards him. Tears were running down the raven haired boy's face as he shut them tightly. He began coughing due to the suffocating smoke that now enveloped his entire home. 'I'm going to die', the boy thought to himself while crying harder.

Then, he felt two strong arms pick him up and sling him over his shoulder. MInho wiggled around frantically at first, afraid of the person who had grabbed him. Was it a robber? Minho could not see his face, because the man had slung him over his shoulder. He was very strong, and had broad shoulders and huge muscles, From what the child felt anyway. All Minho could see of his savior, were his feet. The feet that maneuvered through the orange and red flames. Minho watched as his saviors feet were turning red and bleeding from the blood, broken glass, and flames that he was walking over.

The man had made his way down the stairs when a beam fell and hit his opposite shoulder, the one Minho was not on. He knelt down, his calves now being enveloped in flame. MInho heard the man hiss as he leaned to the side, allowing the beam to fall over on the ground. Minho was stunned when he felt himself being lifted higher as the man stood back up on his feet and made his way out of the door. Minho's head was spinning from the lack of oxygen in his smoke infested house. The last thing he remembered seeing was his saviors burned, battered, and bloody feet before everything went black.

He awoke again to be met with bright white lights. The child's large eyes blinked to adjust to the brightness as his parents worried faces came into focus.

"MINHO-AH", his mother cried while his father gave a sad smile.

"We're so happy you're okay son", his father said, the tracks of his tears prominent on his older face.

"I'm so sorry for leaving you alone Minho-ah. It's all Umma's fault", the woman cried while her husband hugged her and whispered soothing words into her ear.

"Where is he?", Minho asked, his face filled with anxiety.

"Where is who Minho?", his mother asked. His parents looked at him confused while the child furrowed his eyebrows even more confused then them.

"The man who saved me", Minho answered, recieving shocked/suprised looks from his mother and father.

"Someone saved you?"His mother asked while looking back at her husband.

"But Minho-ah, the firefighters and police said that they found you unconcious on the opposite end of the street on the ground", his father explained.

"But... someone saved me. Someone carried me out of the house...he got hurt...and... his feet... his feet", Minho trailed off, his eyes spilling with tears. His parents enveloped him in a tight hug as he cried. The man who had saved him could be dead without medical attention, and he was no where to be found. A wave of sadness was crashing over the 12 year old, none that he had ever experienced before.

After his insistency of their being someone who saved him, his parents had demanded investigators to dig further into their case. Months passed, and they came up with nothing. A year passed, and still nothing. The police had long forgotten about his parents request to find their son's savior, if their had infact been one. But his parents, would never forget their son's words. Neither would MInho forget about the stranger who had saved his life.

Minho sighed while stretching his arms and yawning. "Minho-hyung. There's this thing called sleep, you should get it. Seriously", a boy with honey colored hair said. Minho rolled his eyes while slouching further in his chair.

"Wae. Froggie-ah, is the coach being a bastard again? I'll that nig-", A black haired Diva with pink highlights spat.

"KEY-HYUNG", A boy with a honey colored mushroom head said, totally appalled at his hyungs words.

"Key-Umma spent too much time in the states. He sounds like the ladies in those Pyler Terry Movies", The same boy said while sighing.

"You mean Tyler Perry?", The Diva asked in an 'are you stupid tone'.

"Huh?", the boy said looking up at the Diva.

"Taemin-ah, those movies are made by a man named Tyler Perry", Key said while laughing at the young boy's innocence.

These were two of Minho's closest friends. Key and Taemin. Well Taemin, he had only recently met Key in college while he knew Taemin since he was in middle school.

"No Key. I'm fine. You know I can handle it", Minho said while giving his hyung a reassuring smile.

"Hey Hyung... Have you decided your major yet?", Taemin asked curiously. He didn't, despite most of his other friends doing so. Minho was already a junior in college. Key had decided to major in English, and Taemin just got there so he was still taking the basics. But he already knew what he wanted, he was planning on majoring in Dance after he took the required courses. It really bothered Minho, how he had no idea what he wanted in his life.

Whenever he did really think about it, only one thing came to his mind....

"Hyung.. HYUNG??"

Minho jumped while pouting at Taemin. Key rolled his eyes while continuing to file his nails.

"So what're you gonna do Minho?", Key asked not even looking up.

"I.. don't know", Minho confessed while keeping his head down. His friends looked at him a little sadly. Taemin more so then Key. Taemin knew Minho had felt like his life had been a haze, ever since the fire. He found himself reaching for something... someone...that wasn't there.

Minho leaned back in his chair, his arms folded behind his head as he looked forward. Taemin gave him a smile before turning back to his food.

"Ohh. Emm. Gee"

Minho and Taemin looked up at their hyung a little confused and glanced in the direction he was gaping at. It was a group of the older boys. Most of them were in the graduate school level of their college. Their college had people that were 17 to people in their late thirties. It was one of Seoul's most prestigious colleges.

"Now, WHO is THAT??", Key said while staring at the group of boys. It was hard to tell which one he was referring to since there was such a large group of them.

"The one with the bright smile... is... Onew", Taemin said sounding like a school girl in love while staring at a brown haired boy who was laughing with his friends.

"N-No Taemin-ah. You can't like him. U-Umma doesn't approve", Key said while crossing his arms and shaking his head from left to right. Taemin pouted while tugging on his 'Umma's' shirt.

"Ummmaaaaaa", Taemin whined using aegyo, but Key ignored the maknae who was getting more frustrated by the second.

"Whatever, your not the boss of me", Taemin said while pouting and sipping his banana milk angrily/cutely. Key had a worried look in his eye while he bit his lips. Minho raised an eyebrow at Key, but it was dismissed by the Diva's glare. The sound of the bell broke the trio out of their semi awkward silence as they bid their goodbyes and made their way to their respective classes.

Minho lazily walked to his class, hands shoved in his pockets. His head was lowered, eyes facing the ground. After the fire, he had developed the habit of staring down at the ground as he walked. The athlete was so lost in his thoughts of what happened with his friends, that he failed to notice someone walking infront of him. Minho only snapped out of it when he felt his body collide with anothers and a pair of shoes.

The person he had bumped into let out a hiss as some heavy looking books hit his feet. Minho's eyes widened a bit. It sounded just like-

"MINHO-YAH", On instinct, Minho turned around to see who was calling him. When he looked back, the man he'd bumped into was gone. Minho bit his lip in frustration as he marched over to Key to see what it was that he wanted.
